WOSFL Division Four 2021-2022

is there relegation from this division?

No. There's no promotion or relegation. It's not a full part of the pyramid. It was created largely due to COVID. a number of clubs were looking to apply to the WoSFL for this season, but the league had made the commitment to its existing members to play out the Tier 7 Conferences.

So the applicant clubs got their own division to play in so they wouldn't disrupt that. The hope is that the clubs will be accepted as full members and be integrated into the bottom of the WoSFL. If that doesn't happen there might be enough clubs to continue a standalone division.

There was a Blantyre team that was planning to play at the Jock Stein Centre in Hamilton and was supposed to have been delayed by a year but South Lanarkshire Council appears to have decided not to sell the facility to them:

I've still naw quite got this league yet. There's no promotion for winning but it's more of a holding pen for clubs who are going to join the leagues above providing they can get their grounds in order aye?

Pretty much.

It's a bit like how Conference X was created for the EoSFL this season to deal with new applicants while allowing the 2020-21 format play out above.

The difference is that the EoSFL took on full new members, whereas there's a mishmash of clubs in the WoSFL that may or may not meet the league requirements for membership.

While Conference X will see promotion and become the EoS Third Division. It's still a bit of an unknown as to what will happen with Division 4 as it depends on clubs becoming full members and new applicants.

Can't judge Kilsyth or Glenvale as their current playing fields are unknown to me. Finnart and BSC probably need something better that Springburn.

Campbeltown and Harthill should be fine with their own grounds and St. Peter's and Harmony Row seem fine with decent ground shares.

So if the latter four "move up" what would happen to the four remaining if there aren't numbers to take the place of the clubs who go up?

It's the worse case scenario, and I believe they'd go back to where they came from. There's quite a few variables to play out before it comes to that though. The league is already promoting applications for next season.

I guess it would be simple enough to allow them some kind of associate membership to let them keep access to the cups while they spend a year (or two) back in the ammies while they try and build up another intermediate division. The league seems to have been ran pretty well and been accommodating to teams so far so they'll figure something out if they need to.
