Blues look the more dangerous, but Cliftonville certainly not out of this. Think the ref called correctly on both penalty decisions btw. (ETA JS back out for the second 45) So I see
Clockwork
Thought that was a cracking second half, great header for the equaliser from Joe Gormley (still a real handful), should Johns have come out for it? The North Belfast side probably the more adventurous but a point a fair result I think. Fallon so close in the closing minutes for the Blues, equally O’Neil could have nicked it right at the death for the visitors, brave save from the keeper. Really enjoyed that for a Friday evening game, good to see that a new package of live games and highlights have been agreed with the Beeb.[emoji106]
bendan
I watched the second half of this, and quite a decent game. I've picked up one or two games over the last year - good to have access to this.

Chris Johns is a great keeper, but funnily enough I thought he could have done better with that, too. I went to bed early as I wasn't feeling great, and watched it on my lap top. Juice ran out with 4 minutes to go! Fortunately there were no late dramatics! A draw suits the chasing pack, too.

Clockwork
This'll please you Clockwork https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/58774912Was a little late logging on to the updates this afternoon, feared the worst on discovering that they were a man and a goal down! Couldn’t quite believe it when the winner flashed up. Just looking on the clip there, honestly don’t think Nixon deliberately goes in Loughran for the Red, he’s clumsy standing his ground, but it’s no more intentional than Williamson’s challenge going right through Alex Gawne for the equaliser? Perhaps a close up replay might confirm on Monday evening. Delighted with that though, just staying up this year has to be the priority, these early results will be a huge contribution to that.
Clockwork
Meanwhile in the NIFL Championship, Newry City go back top (on GD) after an impressive 3-0 win at Annagh United to halt the recent form of the Portadown side. Ards comfortable winners over Ballinamallard at Clandeboye sit in second. Ballyclare back up to third winning away at Dergview, Andrew Mooney grabbing both goals in a 2-1 win. At the other end of the table Queen’s battle for a hard won point at home against Loughgall, but remain rooted to the bottom. Dundela continue on a decent run after their cup success over Carrick and a credible point away at Newry, 4-0 winners over local rivals Welders. https://www.nifootballleague.com/championship/

GroundHoppingBear
Cliftonville board showing Celtic how it should be done so fair play to them. Looks like it could be a right good title challenge though was always going to hard for Linfield losing Shane Lavery.

Looks like it could be a right good title challenge though was always going to hard for Linfield losing Shane Lavery.Bang on! this season is going to be a fascinating race. Cliftonville, Linfield, Larne, Coleraine and Crusaders will all be in the mix. Still think Glentoran will have a part to play too. Carrick won’t continue their start, but that’s me glass half empty lol. Portadown are also a much better side than their league position suggests. Don’t mind Matt Tipton, he seems an honest guy who wants to play. ETA, cracking win for the Bannsiders on the Shore Road tonight!

Jacksgranda
A cruise for the Blues and Ballymena lose again. (We will ignore the international result...) https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58858092 4-0 for Linfield over Carrick at The International Windsor Park Stadium, and 1-0 for Crusaders at the Warden Street Showgrounds. Cliftonville top, 17 from 7, Larne second, 16 from 7 and Linfield third, 15 from 7.Coleraine are fourth, 14 points but they've played 8, Crusaders are fifth, 13 from 7, and Carrick are still in the top half @Clockwork, also on 13 but played 8 Bottom half: Glentoran, 12 from 7, a bit of a gap to Glenavon, 7 from 8, ninth Ballymena 4 from 7, ahead of tenth placed Portadown, also 4 from 7, eleventh are Dungannon Swifts, 3 points from 6 and bottom are Warrenpoint Town, on goal difference, 3 from 7. The table starting to settle down a wee bit with not so many teams with games in hand, Glentoran and Ballymena the underachievers to date but we've barely started.
Clockwork
Game of the day In the Championship at the weekend, Ards go back top coming back from 2 down (and with 10 men for much of the game) to take the points at Knockbreda. Newry City slip to second after dropping points at home to Loughall, 1-1. Young James Teelan rescuing a point for the home side who also had Captain defender Mark Hughes dismissed late on. Ballyclare Comrades sit third winning the Friday night tussle against lowly Dundela at home 1-0. Liam McKenna former Carrick Rangers left back with the winner. Queens still firmly rooted to the foot of the table going down 2-0 at home to Annagh United, Stephen Murray and Ryan Harpur doing the damage in the first half. https://www.nifootballleague.com/championship/news/

Tightened things up over the 2nd 45 but the damage was well done by then. The Blues faithful must be delighted to see Chris Manzinga back in the side. The big fella’s a real handful.
Jacksgranda
Big surprise in the League Cup was Ballymena's win at Seaview. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/58906477 Glentoran beat Glenavon on penalties, and Coleraine see off Carrick, 2-0, and Warrenpoint beat Loughgall https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58906475 Edited October 14, 2021 by Jacksgranda
