Failed Statelet Premier League & Other Divisions 2021/22

I should have recognised it, I've been there. Maybe it's been redeveloped in the last 36 years...
Barry Gray does a Frank Lampard and lambasts his players - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60821656
Not sure how that will pan out.

Yep, it’s hardly a motivational approach eh? [emoji15]
"Whether we turn out a good performance or not against Linfield it will still be irrelevant at this point to us."
He’s right though, they’re doomed but they still need to stick together as a team (including the Manager), perhaps Gray knows his second stint at Milltown is coming to an end.

Luxembourg 1 Northern Ireland 3

International friendly: Northern Ireland hit late double to grab away win over Luxembourg https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60789839

Great finish from Josh Magennis for the first, Steven Davis (132 caps) poaching the 2nd & Oxford United’s Gav Whyte coolly slotting home the 3rd.[emoji41][emoji108]

Larne 1 Ballymena 3 in the Shanes Hill Derby. Never heard it called that before. Larne hit the bar 3 times.

“Shane’s Hill Derby” !? Me neither, although ridden my bike down it a few times![emoji23] Pal of mine (Ballymena supporter) was there last night and admitted Larne were unlucky, including the dodgy penalty. Won’t be enough to save Lynch though, likeable guy but I reckon they’ll move him on in the summer?[emoji848]
Looking forward to Championship leaders Newry City visiting Dixon Park this afternoon up at Ballyclare.

Looked like a penalty to me.

Lovely day for it. City can't really afford too many more slip ups.

Warrenpoint Town 1 Linfield 2. Late winner (92nd minute) for the Blues after being a goal down.

Coleraine 2 Glenavon 3. Coleraine fight back from 3-0 down and hit the woodwork 3 times but Glenavon prevail.

Dungannon Swifts 2 Crusaders 4. Four defeats in a row for Swifts.

Glens offer to replay their Irish Cup match - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60892377

Don't think much of that proposal tbh.

And Crusaders accept Ian Rush Consortium investment - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60868409

Decent turnout and game at Windsor tonight. A number of very good chances spurned and one careless mistake proving costly though. Barraclough’s side is gradually starting to take shape though, after a succession of retirements amongst his predecessor’s old guard. Plenty of positives from his young team tonight.

At least Carrick kept going despite going behind so early and then being 3-0 down at the interval I suppose. Their defensive frailties are there for all to see though. Decent finish from young Lloyd Anderson to briefly give the Ambers the smallest glint of hope. Crucial post-split games coming up.

Don’t see how the IFA can go back on their decision. There may well be an anomaly in the system that should have flagged up Crowe’s ineligibility, but Dundela were kicked out of the cup in Jan following their first round win over Ards in similar circumstances. Do they just redraw the whole competition? I can’t see it.

Cliftonville 1 Crusaders 2 in the semi-final. Not the rip roaring contest I hoped for, but a good game, nevertheless. Crusaders deserved it, although the Reds had a goal wrongly disallowed for offside in the first half. It was tight but wasn't offside. The earlier offside "goal" was offside, however. (Equally tight.)

Aye, think Crus’ just about edged it last night, pleased for em. Ballymena won’t have it all their own way at Mourneview but expect them to line up against Stephen Baxter’s side in the final and challenge his quest for a hat trick of Irish Cup wins as a Manager.

Cliftonville close the gap to 1 point.

And Glentoran's Irish Cup appeal goes to arbitration. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60994493    This is turning into a complete mess.

1) Have to admire the Big Man, still banging the goals in for the Reds. Cant be many Strikers in British League Football that can match his strike rate over his two spells with Cliftonville. A proper old fashioned forward, drags defenders all over the box, great to watch.
Saturday’s teatime kick off at Solitude Vs Linfield should be a cracker!!

2) Can’t see how even an appointed arbitrator can help in unraveling the Glens Cup exit fiasco. If they are readmitted to the contest by replacing or replaying Newry, the completion has become a complete farce. They would need to replay to whole fixture list from the round one draw(as previously mentioned Dundela’s expulsion Vs Ards) to retain any credibility and integrity the competition has left.

Two huge games tomorrow,[mention=22050]Jacksgranda[/mention] at Solitude in the Premiership, Cliftonville Vs Linfield and Annagh United Vs Newry City in the Championship. A double header for the top two. I’m going to go Cliftonville to beat Linfield 2-1 and a 1-1 draw at the BMG! Thoughts?

A draw at Solitude and Glentoran to close the gap!

Newry to win in the Championship.

Meanwhile, Coleraine's season dribbles away, 3-0 Larne. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61048001

Goals - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/61039823

Bonis has certainly scored a few since his big money transfer.
