Glentoran v Ballymena tonight. United looking for their first points but they've only played one game.
The big match tomorrow is the north Belfast derby, Crusaders v Cliftonville, Cliftonville's first away game of the season.

Sounds a decent game 2-1 Glens at HT.
ETA; Glens running out comfortable winners 4-1 FT

I think the Glens are going to be serious title contenders this season.

If Coleraine can't win it - and they won't!  - I wouldn't mind Glentoran winning it, tbh.

Definitely, they’ve made an impressive start, back to back home games at the end of the month against Linfield & Crus will give us a good idea as to whether they can really set the pace this term?

Tough on Carrick this afternoon, 4-0 up away at Mournview to lose new signing Lee McNulty, stretchered off with a broken leg and see the match abandoned on 71 mins! emoji15.png

Bit of a strange one that.

I wonder if the result will stand?

No mention of the 75 minute rule, goes to a NIFL Committee for a discretionary decision apparently.
Plenty of action elsewhere, with a thumping win for the Bannsiders[emoji6], late drama at Seaview and an absolute corker from Chris Manzinga to seal the points for Linfield at Portadown. Will look forward to the full highlights.

Seems only right, but I'm still puzzled by the original abandonment.

Yep me too, didn’t really mention the reasons why Glenavon boss Gary Hamilton and his players didn’t want to complete the game on the highlights last night. He didn’t suggest they were distressed at the incident or anything like that. Stuart King was clearly pis*ed off, but at least they’ve rightly been awarded the points. Wish Lee McNulty a speedy recovery.
On a separate note, don’t you find it frustrating that we have to wait until late on Monday evening for the full highlights show on the BBC iPlayer, given that the live stream shows clips from each game on a Saturday afternoon? Wish they would just go back to the old slot straight after the English MOTD highlights. Surely they would get a much bigger audience?

Quick update on the Championship.
Newry still top despite a surprise home defeat to Ballinamallard on Saturday dropping their first points of the season.
Ards in second spot getting back to winning ways at home to bottom club Dundela last Saturday. Former Carrick boss Niall Currie clearly has his work cut at with his new club. Still not sure why he would leave Taylors Ave to end up with the East Belfast side? No disrespect to the Duns at all, but there must have been other options for the Big fella?
Portadown outfit Annagh United have made a decent start to sit in third; along with Ballyclare, recovering from a poor start to put together a couple of performances that suggest they could well be in the mix this year. Young defender Liam McKenna enjoying a purple patch at the other end of the park. Their 4-0 reverse against Premiership Linfield in the LC this week perhaps not as bad as the scoreline suggests reading the match report. Will watch the fortunes of the Comrades with interest over the next few weeks![emoji6]

Couple of crackers there; Stephen Fallon’s first for Linfield and Cathair Friel’s strike for Coleraine’s second. [emoji846][emoji106]

Cliftonville win at Stangmore, to stay top, Glentoran are second after winning at Warrenpoint, Larne third despite losing at Seaview, Carrick fourth after seeing off Portadown and Coleraine snatch a late point at Windsor, while Ballymena and Glenavon also draw 1-1 at the Warden Street Showgrounds.

Some teams have played 5 games, some 4 and some 3, so the table is a bit of a guddle.

McKendry’s late equaliser at Windsor an absolute beauty.
Cracking win for Carrick too over Portadown. Mon the Rangers![emoji846]

In the Championship, Newry stay top despite losing at Ballyclare, Gary Donnelly with the solitary goal for the Comrades. Annagh United hold second spot after easing past bottom side Dundela. Reads like a decent finish in the game over at the Brandywell as Institute continued on a run to claim all three points against 3rd place Ards.

I thought Carrick would struggle as usual but so far so good. Next 3 league games will tell a tale, though.

Yep don’t expect much from the games coming up, but struggling Ballymena a possibility. All about getting some points on the board at this stage eh?[emoji6]
