Scottish Cup 2021/22

Recommended Posts

I was at Millfield for the Haddington v Deveronvale replay.  It was a deserved win, albeit 5-3 on penalties, for the EOSFL side, as they had much the better of the second half after an even first half.  Both goals came early on with Deveronvale scoring after a couple of minutes, but Haddington equalised after 14 minutes.

409 paying spectators and probably 100 more youngsters linked to the club.

A trip to Glebe Park awaits the East Lothian side.

Went along as a neutral today, decent match. Even from the opposite end of the ground could see that tackle was a shocker. Hopefully the lad is ok, who knows how long he’ll be waiting for an ambulance. Amazed it wasn’t a red card, very poor from the officials.

Dalbeattie Star 3 Newtongrange Star 2,  cracking cup tie, Newton came out the blocks and scored in the first minute then another before half time to take a well deserved 2-0 lead. Second half, Dalbeattie made changes and brought it back to 2-2, with Newton having a man sent off. Then a last minute winner for Dalbeattie . The magic of the Scottish Cup is still alive.

After a rocky start they quickly rectified with a lovely equalier Haddington had more play, pressure and opportunites. I felt they deserved to win on penalties.

Tier 7 bloodies another nose from Tier 5.

Looks like the tackle with Wick losing 4-2 has kept them in the Cup, perversely.

Indeed.

Try again Monday - or Tuesday if both clubs agree.

I would have felt sorry for Wick having to make that journey again, but not the way they're still in; besides, I expect they're glad to have another chance.

Musselburgh went to Wick at 48hrs notice last season after weather postponement.

It was a disgusting challenge, deamed wreckless by the referee, the referee - how wreckless does a challenge need to be, the Wick captain has not only endangered his opponent he has put his opponent in hospital with a very serious injury! The incompetent referee doesn’t check to see if the Boness player is injured, he’s too eager to talk to the Linesman and agree they have got it right before seeing the severity of the situation!

The Boness player lies in hospital while the Wick captain gets a second bite at the Scottish cup of which he was out prior to his crippling challenge!

a horrible CNUT of a player!

Yeah, I'm surprised at @craigkillie take

I find a good percentage (probably the majority) of his takes on football players utterly baffling tbh. Wouldn’t be surprised if his takes on other football hings seemed well wide of the mark too.

The Bo'ness Wick game abandoned with a few minutes to go?

There was still the best part of half an hour to play. Referee left the players and crowd standing around for at least 20 minutes wondering what was happening before calling it off.

Couldn’t have put it better myself. The yellow was a fucking joke. Seen the wild lunge by the Wick player coming a mile off.

It would be shit if Wick won after that.

Rescheduled for Tuesday. Starts from scratch at 0-0.

I think it's time that Scotland took on the rules of some other countries and restart abandoned games where they stopped rather than going back to the start.

I agree with this. I think it's a much better idea than pretending the previous part of the game didn't happen.
