LeedsPhil
The preliminary round draw will be made on the glorious 12th (Thursday) - the SFA website's news article 'fixture dates confirmed' has been edited today to include that. Doesn't yet say what time / how to watch a stream.

Marshmallo
Irvine Meadow vs Musselburgh jumps out as being a good tie that should attract a big crowd. Reasonable draws for the sides from the SoS, who you'd imagine would've got horsed by eg Talbot or Clydebank. -
HibeeJibee
Linlithgow v Banks o'Dee and Irvine Meadow v Musselburgh are ties of the round. Dundonald-Penicuik, Jeanfield-Whitehill and Dunbar-Broxburn are all-EOS Premier encounters. Burntisland-Dalkeith is all-EOS First Division. Tynecastle and Blackburn will be favourites in their ties. Newton Stewart-Coldstream, Preston-Threave and Hawick-Golspie intriguing but EOS perhaps favourites.
Sherrif John Bunnell
That's some trek for Golspie.

Aye but basically every tie apart from BoD is a trek as the next closest club is in Perth. At least they have managed to draw the weakest EOS club in the competition so the journey might be worthwhile. Though Hawick will probably be happy to have avoided the big guns as well.
HibeeJibee
Hawick not quite whipping boys of old, and will have 6 weeks competitive action under their belts while I think Golspie only start week before.

Yeah, Golspie don't start until 21 August. They pulled out of the North of Scotland Cup and I don't think they even have any friendlies lined up. From what I can see their only match since the last league game on 12 June was a friendly against a Golspie select on 28 July, so the could well be under-prepared. Hawick must be in with a shot here.

They were poor at Burntisland a few weeks back never had a shot at goal, but for not taking chances Shippy could easily have had double figures.

Tbf they also led Edinburgh South until losing 2-1 late on last month, and won 1-0 away to an admittedly depleted Newburgh a fortnight ago. It pairs-up 2 of the worst few clubs in the draw.

It must be hard for them to recruit players who are willing to travel up to Fife and the Lothians for midweek games. Looking at their record in recent times it shows how ill thought out the Lowland League was when it started in terms of members (a lot down to the SJFA having their heads in the sand).

By recent times do you mean since they were relegated? Because they didn't do much better previously, finishing bottom of the EOS three seasons out of five before joining the LL...

Can’t blame them for going for it as I mentioned earlier the junior beaks buried their heads so the clubs willing to go for it took advantage. 1 hour ago, Ginaro said: By recent times do you mean since they were relegated? Both probably they were always going to sink given the clubs in the EOSL now.
HibeeJibee
Hawick were good enough to beat us 3-2 at Shielfield in Scottish Cup R2 in 2016-17...
