Can't see this being any better for the likes of Talbot with the ludicrous 20 team league and these 4 cups plus the season needs to be ended earlier so that a possible playoff can take place if the league winner is licensed

it won't be. the proponents of the pyramid left that bit out of the sales pitch.

It wasn't left out. Going into the notes of interest stage it and equal Conferences (soon to be 20 team Premier with Conferences below) it was known that league, Scottish, SCC, and WoS Cup would take priority with the Junior Cup voluntary for any club that chose to remain.

When starting to shape the 2020-21 season it was the two groups of 10 in the Premier playing 28x, Scottish, SCC would take priority. The WoS Cup was on the backburner and the Junior Cup still a voluntary competition.

This year the league, Scottish, SCC are still a priority. The WoS Cup is still on the backburner due to COVID concerns, and the Junior Cup is entirely voluntary.

If Auchinleck Talbot weren't in the Junior Cup this year they would have been hosting Darvel in the League on 25/9.

I'm thinking more of the Pyramid evangelists on here rather than any official info, but aye you're right that it wasn't a secret.

The WoSFL Challenge Cup is not on the back burner, it will be played this season.

There's only a partial fixture list because of concerns of another interrupted season. The WoSFL Challenge Cup isn't on it. What else would you call it but put on the backburner.

"On the backburner" to me implies that it won't be played at all this season. The fixtures issued so far only take us to the end of Phase 1, which is the priority for all teams in the WoSFL this season. Once Phase 1 is completed then the WoSFL Challenge Cup will appear in the fixtures. I suppose that is technically "on the backburner", but it will be played this season as long as we get past the end of Phase 1 in the fixtures.

Backburner, on hold, under review, put to one side. None of them mean cancelled.

That's the thing, though. The WoSFL Challenge Cup is not on hold, it's not under review, and it's not put to one side. It has been scheduled for Phase 2 of the season. The South Challenge Cup, the Strathclyde Cup and the Scottish Junior Cup are all taking place in Phase 1, and a lot of teams will be knocked out of these cups by the end of the WoSFL Phase 1 fixtures. It's sensible scheduling by Kennie.

You yourself said it, it'll get played if the fixtures get past phase 1.

We're not past phase 1.
