The Premiere Division 2021-22

It’ll be interesting if Talbot/Pollok and/or Tranent/Linlithgow top the leagues.

No disrespect intended to Penicuik but in terms of supporters these clubs are all pulling in c400 regularly and the LL teams could be banking 100 away fans twice a year more by voting in two or 3 places relegation.

Some people have posted about that being placed on the agenda for the next LL AGM but there's been nothing officially announced so far and the LL turkeys still need to vote for an early Christmas.

The whole situation is farcical like you say why would LL clubs vote to relegate two it should be an SFA decision in the name of sporting integrity but as usual they say they want a pyramid but do nothing to promote it

They voted to let the colts in for £2k per club and that would be around what they’d get if they let in two from the leagues below. I’m basing this on EOS and Wos as I don’t know the crowds the SOS get.

In other news leaders St Cuthbert Wanderers won big 2nd v 1st clash in the South today... putting them 7pts clear of Threave with 7 games left. So nearing the territory of title beings theirs to throw away. Linlithgow beat St Cuthbert in South Challenge Cup in November.

Way out West we find, as yet unlicensed, leaders Pollok now 11pts clear with 11 games left... but Auchinleck have 5 games-in-hand (indeed only 3 games past halfway in their 38-game league) meaning say 4 wins & 1 draw would put them 2pts clear. They meet in Ayrshire a week on Saturday in a potentially pivotal encounter - certainly defeat would put intense pressure on the hosts.

so where do we stand if Pollok aren't licensed will the playoff happen and if they win play the wait and see game like happened with bonnyrigg

No that's wrong.

If only 1 champion is licensed they go straight up. That's now very unlikely - you'd need Creetown or Abbey Vale to win South.

If are 2 licensed champions then there's a regular home-&-away playoff in latter half of May.

If all 3 champions are licensed then there's a round robin in latter half of May - similar format to what Bonnyrigg, Broxburn and Penicuik contested back in 2019.

EDIT: You're forgetting Bonnyrigg won a round robin to decide the East title (there having been 3 parallel conferences that season). There was no playoff for promotion to LL - as South winner wasn't licensed or eligible Bonnyrigg went straight up.

It won't be the same as Bonnyrigg - by the rules if the WOS champions isn't licensed by 31 March (and there's been no waiver or period of grace) then they cannot qualify for the playoff.

We are basically guaranteed to have a EOS v SOS playoff, the only question is can Pollok get their licence sorted by the end of March.

As the saying goes a game of 2 halfs at Rosewell yesterday. 🤭With the howling wind at their backs Jeanfield took advantage and were lethal to go 1-5 up at half time. Wasnt a good watch spectator wise, although Jeanfield wont be complaining,as against the wind clearances from the box were just coming straight back. Full time 1-5.

Great 3 points away for Sauchie. HOB have the games left if they could finally find some form but otherwise the bottom 5 looks done.

I would disagree with that theirs a few bottom of the table clashes and bottom half teams playing them as well. Hutchie Vale not out the woods yet could easily drop to 5th bottom

Lol. Lothian will at least pick up 2/3 wins out of their last 9 games and hit the 40 point mark.
