HibeeJibee
Conference B bemoans the demise of Eyemouth, but is freshened-up by the addition of Edinburgh South who'd been gunning along fairly well in Conference A. Last season Heriot-Watt Uni and Luncarty set the pace followed by Kinnoull and gaggle of Fife clubs. Preston, Lochore, Lochgelly and Hawick had struggled to make traction at bottom. Clubs play 2 times for 28 games. With league games being front-loaded in case of future public health difficulties halfway should be reached by Bonfire Night and 2/3rd by Christmas. Champion promoted to Premier; whilst runner-up would enter a playoff if there is a net loss of 1 club to LL. Meanwhile everyone's wider target is top 7 to avoid dropping into new Second Division; whilst best 8th could also stay up. Action gets underway on Saturday 17th July then concludes on Saturday 28th May. There are a couple of Sunday games for Edinburgh South. Opening week: September international weekend: Festive period/Premiership winter break: Closing week: Edinburgh South groundshare with Dalkeith. Half the division has floodlights (including unlicensed Edinburgh South, Heriot-Watt Uni and Stirling Uni EOS). HibeeJibee
Football at this level ended on Saturday 14th March 2020 with the cancellation of games including Heriot-Watt Univ v Burntisland... restarted abortively on Saturday 10th October 2020 (after new clubs were added then conferences remixed) with Hawick v Glenrothes, Heriot-Watt v Burntisland, Newburgh v Lochore, Oakley v Lochgelly, Peebles v Luncarty, and Preston v Kinnoull... and restarts again this Saturday 17th July - hopefully for good this time - with the reverse equivalents; plus we bid welcome to Edinburgh South, who begin their Conference B sojourn at home v Easthouses. Hopefully the referee at Shippy v Students - which appears the headline act given their performances last season - will remember how many subs are permitted this time... Saturday 17th July 2021 Burntisland Shipyard v Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh South v Easthouses Lily Glenrothes v Hawick RAU Kinnoull v Preston Athletic Lochgelly Albert v Oakley United Peebles Rovers v Luncarty Stirling University EOS v Lochore Welfare Kinnoull v Preston also look an interesting encounter; whilst many will also be looking keenly to see if Luncarty and Oakley have resparked their good form from last campaign, and Glenrothes the campaign before that.

Tappy the Toon
Excellent start to the season for Oakley,as we comfortably brushed aside a Lochgelly side who seem to have a fair bit of work to do.Great to be back alongside 53 other sun drenched, windswept fans.

The second was saved but in no time they were ahead and then took another to make it 3-1. Kinnoull has the ball in the net twice in the first half but the ref disallowed a goal from a free kick as a Preston player was only 5 yards from the ball when the free kick was taken and it hit off him and deflected in. The ref at half time explained to the home manager that he had to disallow it due to the fact that in his word "99 times out of 100" that deflects wide and you would want a retake. A few heavy challenges from both teams in a game delayed by 45 minutes due to an accident that meant Preston did not arrive until 10 minutes after the stated kick off time.

If it had gone over the bar Kinnoull would have been happy with the retake, as it was they were very disappointed.

glenshomereg
Watched the Newburgh v Edinburgh South game this afternoon . Game spoiled by both sides taking advantage of a young ref out of his depth. No assistants to help him either. Both teams falling down and screaming in pain at every opportunity. Ref allowed himself to be mobbed by players and bad positioning meant he was guessing at a lot of bad offside decisions for both teams. Failure to send off Newburgh management when they became physically involved in a free for all after a hefty tackle resulted in EdInburgh player being red carded. Players continued to niggle especially after EdInburgh scored to pull it back to 2-1. Ref unable to control players and officials at full time. Full scale handbags in the centre circle including officials from both sides. To be honest the poor quality of play displayed by both sides meant this was the main excitement in the game ... And that was after the game finished !!!!!!! Neither of these teams will be troubling the top of the table come the end of the seson. First game I've been to in a year and a half and I just hope when I go next week's game of football breaks out !!!
