Sugar_Army Posted July 1, 2021 Share Posted July 1, 2021 Having read many of the threads, one of the recurring themes is the loss of quality media reporting whether in print, online or on TV and how it has diversified, not all of it in a good way. NewsNight tonight had a bit about the Bately and Spen by-election where rather and answer a question Galloway churned out the "fake news" excuse for not talking to the BBC. So it got me thinking. If one wanted to be more politically, socially and culturally informed, which media streams should they be looking at and which should they be wary of (bearing in mind it is always worth paying attention to what the other half say). velo army Posted July 2, 2021 Share Posted July 2, 2021 I'm a fan of Russia today, especially the "Going Underground" show. Very in depth look at some issues not covered by the news (I recall a fascinating look at the increasing privatisation of public spaces) and the fella who hosts is highly intelligent and wonderfully warm and calm with guests. Al Jazeera is the only watchable telly news but i can't take it at face value. Bbc isn't as bad as russia today or fox news, yet.
