Watching rangers B team outplaying hearts 1st team in the last 30 minutes was something special. Have to think that these guys all playing together every week in the Lowland League has made a big difference. All comfortable with how each other play.

That'll be five players who played yesterday, plus three on the bench, who all played in the 4-0 defeat to the University of Stirling just last month.

Are the B teams not meant to be a separate squad or can they move back and forth as they please. How does it work if booked for one team while playing for the other. Who signed off on the lowland league regs Boris it has his mark on it, bung some cash at it and make things up as you go

If they play for the senior side they aren't allowed to play for the B side in the same window is my understanding. Given the lowland league was over it was irrelevant

So who are they actually contracted to during the season?

If they made 5 appearances for the 1st team they could could no longer play for the B team and would be considered a 1st team player until the Winter transfer window. At which point it reset and could play for the B team again until making another 5 1st team appearances. Don't think anyone came close for it to be an issue.

As for cards and discipline, no idea how that side of things would work.

Seems like it’s to be kept under the radar by the LL who don’t seem to do transparency but SFA (who also don’t do transparency ) have to approve the extension of B Teams for the coming season and that will be decided tomorrow.

There's been mentions that it's all dependent on SFA approval. Seeking the blessing of the SFA has been an almost annual event for the LL Board since Selkirk since they find something to mess around with in their rulebook.

Currently on Version 19 since 2013.

So it's good for both branches of Old Firm plc, but there are no real benefits to actual LL teams or Scottish football in general?

Which is pretty much what the critics said.

The LL rules have to be approved by the SFA every year, it’s standard procedure.

Most leagues don't change their rules every year.

Most leagues will usually have a number of small procedural changes, these generally aren’t reported. In any case my point still stands.

It’s the members who decide if these changes go through!

So why does it need approved by SFA Professional Game Board.? The members can propose but still needs ratified by SFA ?

I believe some on PGB want further changes to guest Club criteria. Interesting to see what materialises.

This should be up to the LL members alone, the EOS, WOS & SOS members should get a vote too!

Because that’s the system, it’s the same for all leagues. All rules need to be ratified by the SFA
