there was a fleeting moment earlier in his Celtic career when this would have ilicited more of reaction, but completely agree that most people with an interest in the national team will barely muster a "meh" to this news.....

doubt he will even be a celtic player much longer either

Can't really blame the guy for taking the opportunity for international football when not getting anywhere close to a Scotland call up by age 23/24. Don't think he'll be that big a miss if at all, hopefully we have better options going forward.

Dundee-born Man City youngster and underwhelming Ross County loanee Alex Robertson has been called up by Australia for their upcoming friendlies. Would still be eligible to play for us, but given that he's played for England at youth level up to now, you'd have to imagine that's not hugely likely. He was only born here because his Aussie dad was playing for Dundee at the time.

If he plays in either of the games against Ecuador he will be the third generation to play for Australia as his grandfather Alex in 1984, although not full internationals, and dad Mark in 2001. He’s also eligible for Peru as that’s where his mother is from.

Mark Robertson?

If so, good player. Looked rubbish when he first come in but ended up doing pretty well.

He’s also utter shite.  I realise that hasn’t stopped us before, but if Alex Robertson is the answer, we need to ask a different question.

Be interesting to see if any of the younger players at big clubs do anything this summer, either via loan or otherwise. The likes of Mebude, Josh Adam and Liam Morrison are all 19, 20 and you'd think they need to start getting some game time sooner rather than later.

Calvin Ramsay is going to Preston for next season which should be good for him.

Definitely hope Morrison gets a loan move. Doak's young enough to still benefit from kicking around Liverpool playing some cup games, but I would like to see Mebude in senior football.

Looks like Ryan Fraser is on his way to Southampton to add to their Scottish contingent.

I would love him to get back in form and on the international scene but his attitude has badly let him down over the years. On his day, he’s our best attacking player imo but we’ve very rarely seen that from him.

Still only 29 so should still have something to offer. He should’ve done so much more with his career though.
