Celtic are playing out of Airdrie, and Rangers are at Dumbarton.

Opening Weekend fixtures:

Berwick Rangers v. Caledonian Braves
Bonnyrigg Rose v. Celtic B
Dalbeattie Star v. Civil Service Strollers
Edinburgh University v. BSC Glasgow
Gala Fairydean Rovers v. East Stirlingshire
Rangers B v. Bo'ness United
Stirling University v. Gretna 2008
Vale of Leithen v. Cumbernauld Colts

East Kilbride are on SPFL League Cup duty, so Spartans are idle.

It was the top. Celtic = Airdrie and Rangers = Dumbarton

Doesn't seem to be a ton of conflict. They both have a couple of Sunday games from a quick look instead of the more common Friday night football.

Bit unfortunate for two of the teams who voted against the Colts to be stuck playing against them on the first game back.

Also, interesting there's still no name change for BSC there. I wonder if that will be in place before the season starts or if they've got an agreement to use it for longer with BSC Glasgow

Should be. They were highlighted as a groundsharing club on the West fixture list.

They are according to the WoS website.

Presumably someone is going to have to be playing on Fridays or Sundays every week in that case.

I only noticed Celtic down for a couple of Sundays. Not sure what Glasgow University's plans are. Maybe they're more keen on Friday nights?

Double groundhop I see as well - first one in October looks like the same home clubs as the previous two March editions, then there's another one in March with Caley Braves involved. Is it EOS clubs still for the first one, with perhaps WOS clubs in the second one?

Rangers vs Celtic B on New Year's Day is a recipe for disaster 😂

Stunned that BSC get to host Rangers on an international weekend when Rangers first team won't be playing.

Caley Braves get Celtic as well.

Having just had a look at the fixtures for all the teams and the rational behind how the fixtures were worked out is totally baffling !

Obviously I had a look at Gretna 2008 fixtures first - to be given first 4 games away on the trot??? Why the need for that scenario is the real puzzler. Later on they have 3 home games on the trot - again why the need ???

Checking the rest of the clubs in the league and almost all have a run of 3 or 4 home or away games on the trot at some time - again - why ????

I know ever club has to play each other at some time but a good start gives momentum. Playing 4 away games to start is a very tough way to build that momentum.

In the past the normality would be alternate home / away fixtures but this current lot is a really strange way to plan a league campaign.

All in all a very lopsided fixture list which is difficult to understand why it has been worked out in that way.

Well if you don't have a pitch it's a bit difficult to play any games at home...

Are Gretna 2008 not ripping up the pitch and putting in an artificial surface? Only saw the photos going around the other week. Don't think that would get completed in time for the start of the season.

That is certainly as good a reason as any as regards Gretna - didnt realise that was happening !!!

It certainly doesn't explain why almost all of the rest of the teams have a run of home / away games  in the first few months of the season tho.
