G51
If Postecoglou doesn’t rotate his team they’re going to continue to pick up soft tissue injuries. That’s more likely to be Celtics downfall than anything else.

It’s an opportunity missed.

Tonight if nothing else has shows we can however we are quickly running out of attacking options as that’s Kyogo, Jota, Forrest, Ajeti all likely out with hamstring injuries and GG out with some other injury. Will have big Biton in at centre forward at this rate

Guess we’ll find out Sunday.

If they focused more on defending then they'd be sacrificing a lot of their attacking threat. The biggest problem is that most of the defensive players they had available are absolutely shite, regardless of the coach that was going to be a problem. If they'd had Taylor and Jullien available for the campaign it might have made a difference. Yes, however 4 of their usual back 5 including the goalkeeper, all except Ralston were Ange signings. They are very good going forward, and Ange’s teams are very good to watch but let’s not forget it’s only December and they are already out of 2 European tournaments. He needs to evolve his style for Europe as it’s not working.
Fratelli
Enjoyed watching that, our young(ish) players coming in and clearly knowing the system and playing with the confidence to at least try and knock it about was encouraging. The injury to Kyogo puts a real dampener on it however, and i suspect Ange will be panned for bringing him on. I was surprised at the time but it now looks like an absolutely mental decision.

By this time last season we were out of Europe completely, out of the League Cup and all but out of the league. If anything the signs are quite positive

G51
Celtic-Leicester is the tie we all want to see isn’t it. Can just imagine Rodgers giving it big licks to the press about how wonderful it’ll be to be back at Parkhead, only to get booed solid for 90 minutes

Apart from maybe Zlatan and Buffon, there can't be many players still playing now from that tournament. The following players are still kicking about (a ball): Djibril Cisse (France) CF Roque Santa Cruz (Paraguay) CF Shinji Ono (Japan) MF Bart Ogbeche (Nigeria) FW Daniel Viteri (Ecuador) GK Carlos Kameni (Cameroon) GK Austin Ejide (Nigeria) GK Honourable mentions to Clyde Celtic legend Du Wei (China) who just retired last year (CB). Also Kazuyoshi Miura (CF) who really should have been in the Japan squad STILL plays on at age 54 alongside a certain Shunsuke Nakamura (MF) who is now 43 and would have been in the Japan squad also if not for a knee injury in a warm-up game against Honduras in which he scored twice (one of them direct from a corner). 'King' Kazu Miura is the record holder for oldest goalscorer in professional football, having beaten Stanley Matthews record (who scored at a sprightly 50 years old).

That’s great getting the young players in for what was basically a reserve match. Everyone knows that these guys will never get a meaningful run of games, particularly with reports of further foreign players coming in in January. Sad but true.
