bigphil2388
Here are my predicted opening day fixtures for the Scottish premiership. Dundee v Ross county. Hearts v Aberdeen Motherwell v Celtic Rangers v Hibernian St Johnstone v Livingston St Mirren v Dundee United Reason behind that Hearts and Rangers champions hence home for them and away for Celtic and Hibs. Motherwell and St Johnstone have went at least three season without a home start. And the rest randomised with Dundee not at home with Dundee United. Note Livingston were promoted via playoffs three years ago and had away start, so no home start guaranteed for playoff winners. The reason for Motherwell and Hibs getting old firm to start is probably their turn.
Guest TheJTS98
Hibernian, please.
ATLIS
Home to Dundee Utd would be fine with me. We've had 2 away and 1 home since coming back up so we're due a home start here I think
Lex
I predict there will be a 'leaked opening day fixtures' released by a random twitter account at the weekend. People will then discuss these leaked opening day fixtures and moan about them. Then there will be the actual fixtures released, which will bear no resemblance at all to the leaked version. Happens every year.
Arch Stanton
No chance we'll be at home on the same day as the currants. We'll be away to them or possibly Hearts. Edited June 10, 2021 by Arch Stanton
RossBFaeDundee
Have a strong feeling we'll be away to one of the Old Firm or something. Have personally decided I want Motherwell at home to stay with.
captainkev
We'll get Hearts at Tynecastle. Nothing surer.
kingjoey
Aberdeen v Rangers is a very common first fixture. Edit: it will have to be Rangers v Aberdeen next season. Edited June 10, 2021 by kingjoey
topcat(The most tip top)
Given the distinct chance that opening day won’t see stadiums operating at full capacity I hope they put the big derby fixtures closer to game eleven. if hearts are going to be at home in a game some of us might have to miss then I’d rather it was against one of those clubs whose existence is easy to forget. Like.., err.. thingy! You know! Their name escapes me at the moment but You get the idea
Spikethedee
Every season in the top flight, we always start away to Killie. Oh……

Even if full capacity is allowed, they shouldn't waste a game on opening day that would draw a big crowd any time, as I'm guessing the openers always draw big crowds? The opening matchups should be something like the following to maximize attendance for the long run if clubs can have full capacity: Celtic-St. Mirren Livingston-Rangers United-Aberdeen St. Johnstone-Dundee Hearts-Ross County Motherwell-Hibs

My grasp of some of the geographical rivalries is lacking.

Saints have fairly shit crowds against anyone except the Dundee sides and Old Firm, tbh.
