New SPFL sponsor

The one wee thing that annoys me is that the name cinch is specifically all lower case, and it looks a wee bit daft in writing the 'cinch Premiership'.

Aside from that, happy we actually have a sponsor now.

Is it a clumsy enough phrase to move people away from the SPL?

It's a sponsorship deal that adds a bit of money to the coffers. It won't be anything over £2m a season, probably closer to £1m. Tbf to ND he's agreed to 2 sponsorship deals for competitions that were previously sponsored by gambling companies.

Wonder if they'll add any secondary deals for things like Man of The Match awards and such.

Don’t Glens sponsor the Player of the Month awards etc?

Glens sponsor the Manager of the Month awards and are the Spirit of the SPFL, but they don't sponsor the Player of the Month incase of an event where a 17 year old wins the award.

Would really like to see them introduce official man of the match awards though, most other leagues do it.

As well as man of the match they should have "Dick of the day" awards too

How would they select an official man of the match? The SPFL genuinely has about 10 staff in total, most of whom are not working Saturdays.

Fair point, that could be delegated to the broadcaster be that Sky, BBC ALBA or BBC Scotland? Pretty much formalising what happens already and extending it to cover every game.

I doubt the Eliteserien has that many more staff than the SPFL and pretty sure they award MoTM awards.

Whoever is writing the Associated Press match report picks? kind of boring though.

How about the referee picks. Would be a good laugh.
