Deanburn Dave Posted November 20, 2021 Author Share Posted November 20, 2021 East Kilbride Thistle gave the BU's a problem today. Their big no 9 was a handful for Skinner and Hunter. Meanwhile our midfield couldn't find their teammates never mind control the game. The BU's were fortunate to take the lead and it was fairly even in the chances stakes until the BU's went 2-0 up.......after that the Thistle lost their shape and their legs and the BU ended a very uncomfortable game in cruise control. dolly Posted November 20, 2021 Share Posted November 20, 2021 Following up from Dave’s comments I struggled to work out the shape of the team. Normally we play with a back four, either one or two holding midfielders, one or two midfielders supporting a front three. Today we played a 4:1:5, probably not deliberate, which left spaces all over the park that even a lower league team could expose. It might have been a different game if they had taken one of their chances in the he first half.
