That was a gritty performance by the BU's. First half was for half an hour horrendous conditions. Strong wind and lashing down with rain.....it felt like a miserable winter night. The BU playing into the wind used their experience to negate the foul weather and the younger speedier opponents. Second half and the weather was still breezy but considerably less wet. That allowed the BU's to play some decent Fitbaw and win the game. Highlight of the match was an awesome strike by Nicky Locke that 3 goalies wouldn't have stopped. Lowlight was some slack passes that could have cost us points.

Impressed by the Civil Service Strollers attack which was quick and skillful. You could see how they have had some good results this season.

Darren Gribben didn't make it on the pitch. With 10 to go he was stripped and ready to come on but then the BU management had second thoughts and called him back to the bench.

Man of the match - Nicky Locke.

Big thanks to the BU players , 3 games in 6 days . Full time professionals would be moaning at that .

Good quality match in terrible conditions at times but adds to the atmosphere in enclosure .

Thought CSS we’re a good young side who played well with no malice in their play , good to watch , credit to them .
Good display by officials too.

Heard a ground hopper say at end that he “ thoroughly enjoyed that and would like to come back “. Also said “ What a lovely little ground “ so credit to NPA too , all good to hear .

All positives last night and Dev back as well .

Onwards and upwards .

ps , What a goal from Nick .
