Bo'ness United 2021/22

Once again, the central man in the back 3, Skinner, looked solid.  Won every ball he went for and his passing was first-class.  Having Hawkins & McCormack alongside him will obviously develop the lad.  Most of our creative players sat on the bench in the first half, which allowed Tranent a fair bit of the ball.  They are clearly a good side but lacked any cutting edge.

In the second half, when Grant and Herron came on, we started to look the part and the introductions of Stevenson, Anderson and Sneddon swung the game.  Good goal from Kieran and another busy but skillful performance from Sneddon, who unluckily hit the bar whilst being tugged at.

A good performance on the whole.  The new lads now integrating well and passing was better than on Saturday.  As for Tranent, they should do well this season.

Jordan Herrons a brilliant player if he could find the form he had at us before he got injured you are well on for a great player.

Two BU games with a similar pattern, the BU defensively strong in first halves but not making many chances. Second halves the BU put on more creative players, the games get more open but we stay secure at the back and we make more chances.
Max Christie will be working hard to get the right offence/defence balance.

This side has plenty of potential.

In Max we trust.

So BU fans what will Max do v the Rose ?
(1) Defensive starting line up and introduce fresh more attacking players in the second half ...as per first two games ....or....(2) Start with what he thinks may be his best 11 and see how it goes ?

He has got together what looks like a good squad, so who has still to feature from the newcomers? Only 9 from last years squad.
Been on hols so not seen any games so looking forward to Saturday.

Boheesian,. Danny Galbraith hasn't been seen in either squad. 99% sure that he wandered over in casual gear to sit with the subs 2nd half of the Bino's game. Heard a rumour that he is still suffering the after effects of the COVID. Think all the other BU squad have been on the pitch at some point.

Plenty of good defenders in the BU ranks. Busy and effective midfield. Up front Miller, Locke and Anderson have done the damage.

The boy Sneddon from Camelon looks like he is carrying a wee bit weight but he has impressed me when he has come on.

Only 2 games played but I think there's a lot of potential in the BU squad.

Max should treat it as exactly what it is - A meaningless friendly.

This game is another that’s all about getting the guys game-time and fitness in preparation for the games against sides that matter.

Overtime and a wee holiday mean I’ve not seen any either. Looking forward to getting back to games though once the season’s under way.

It's the last 'official' warm-up match but who knows?  Bounce games can be arranged for training nights and maybe already have, so Max might already know his starting eleven for the league.

Whatever the tactics, I hope Max concentrates on the passing.  It has sometimes been a little loose up to now, understandably, but we do have some great passers of the ball in that team now.

However much us fans may like to whip the wee Rose, we must remember it is just a friendly against our wee neighbours, who I am sure will be taking it more seriously.  Maybe even their game of the season?

Ticket bought for tomorrow, buzzing to finally be getting back to seeing Bo'ness in the flesh!

They are robbing bassas btw.  We have charged £4 to see our 2 games, yet they charge a fiver for us.  Typical lithgae.
