According to a Telegraph report Jamshedpur and at least three other clubs in India are trying very hard to get Owen Coyle to stay. After Saturday's performance I think he could be tempted.

Would say it’s unlikely. His son has already intimated that he’s coming home. Nearly three years over there, away from the family, during a global pandemic has got to have been a tough shift. Wouldn’t say he’d need the money either, even if they offered huge amounts to stay.

A few pictures from Lesser today, all the remnants of the base layer for the old plastic pitch are gone and the first layer of the base for the new pitch is being laid. The fencing at the North East corner of the ground has been removed to allow vehicles to use that end of the ground for access. Main other work this week appears to be piling work to support the brick wall beside the stand at the North East corner and lots of foundation works at the South East corner of the stadium.

The pitch is already looking better than Firhill

...unless you believe the daily Mirror!!

His success has not gone unnoticed either, with reports in the last few days claiming Scottish League One team Queen of the South are ready to lure Coyle - who was born in Scotland but picked up one cap for the Republic of Ireland as a player - back to Britain.

Probably got their "Queen's" mixed up.

After that performance yesterday, it comes to the stage that it may be better for the development of the less experienced and Academy players to be competitive in League one next season than being on the receiving end of a few doings in the Championship.

A first season back at Lesser competing for a title rather than a relegation dog-fight is an easier sell when looking to increase fanbase and in keeping with the long-term development of the Club.

Alternatively, If we somehow manage to get to the Championship then we'll be a far more attractive proposition for the better full time players in Scotland who currently don't want to play in League 1 thus making us more competitive on and off the park. If we don't improve the squad at all then you're right but no way our squad will stay the same next season, no matter what division we end up in.

....  Were QP not about six points clear at the top in October and looked the team to beat,   has the change of philosophy under Beuke been  the problem, did you need to try and reinvent the wheel,

We were but teams soon got wise to how we played and Ellis had no answers. No, the slump definitely started under Ellis. He couldn't get a tune out of them for months. I didn't see any change in the way we played in any of the games he was our head coach - no plan B -  even after Beuker became director of football.

If it was a slump then, it’s a dive of a cliff now. Beuker has already learned that his philosophy can’t be instilled in established players. His novel subs at half time took out 3 auld heids leaving only Doyle in play. That was a big statement for me. Seems clear to me that whoever our new first team coach is will have to be on the Beuker bus from day one. That explains the three month delay. This hybrid old/new creature is very rare. Is that man Owen Coyle?

Would be an amazing signing but I’m holding out no hope for that. Seems like they’ve just added 2 + 2 together with the Coyle appointment. You’d like to think he’d have his pick of SPL teams still

You guys planning on being in for the start of next season? Much potential for Lesser Hampden to get some kind of funding from Euro 2028 for future works if could be based as some kind of warm up area/training ground etc? Maybe incorporating a media centre or something with a stand on front?

Either way, looks like it will be great.

If the SFA want to rent out our stadium for any reason, I’d take the absolute piss out of them price wise. If they don’t want to pay up, we can run our own events and take the profit.

As you should. Take every penny you can get out of them.
