Other games that got moved were all either against other Junior clubs or those who weren't competing in the 1st round. This will be interesting for the Junior Cup 2nd round on 25th September where Armadale play Bo'ness the day before - if Bo'ness and their cup opponents from the North don't want to move the game then presumably that'll be another forfeit? stulch Posted August 18, 2021 Share Posted August 18, 2021 I think the EoSFL's stance on the Junior Cup or anything similar was clear, league games (and their competitions) were priority. They wouldn't want what happened in the juniors with league games kept getting postponed and some teams being way behind with their league fixtures. Unsure why the SJFA tried to force the issue by always stating that day. They're not in a junior league any more. Why has the East of Scotland failed to alter fixtures to accommodate other member clubs? I assume Bo'ness Athletic didn't agree to it. They're not obliged to construct their fixture list around a competition run by another Association. They don't for the Fife Cup. It has been clear from day one that clubs can participate in the Junior Cup as long as they arrange it around the EoS match calendar. Maybe it would be an issue for clubs in the WOS who play both senior and junior cup, but there would be no problem in the east as you can only enter one of the Scottish/Junior/Alex Jack cups. The other Junior Cup participants have presumably agreed with each other to reschedule their league games to the following weekend (which was free for cup games), or in the case of West Calder have moved their King Cup game at Peebles to midweek. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You mentioned Stoneyburn, Syngenta, Livingston United, and Fauldhouse United earlier. They lucked out in that they were playing each other on the weekend of the 1st round of the SJC so were able to rearrange league fixtures amongst themselves. The previous week is free while we wait on the outcome of Scottish/AJ games, but if Livingston get through they should be fine as fellow Junior club Syngenta would presumably be ok moving their game. Fauldhouse have K&D in the cup so maybe they'll be ok moving as well. Armadale had a north region team (probably Dyce) so couldn't easily move to the 18th unless Banks o'Dee won in the Scottish Cup and there was some rejigging so that Dyce were free. Fauldhouse drew again while Edinburgh Colleged delivered an admirable away win to enter the mid-table area. Friday 20th August 2021 Bo'ness Athletic v Bathgate Thistle (7:45pm) Saturday 21st August 2021 Edinburgh College v Armadale Thistle (3pm) Pumpherston v Whitburn Friday night football returns this evening as Bo'ness Athletic seek to get back within touching distance of Syngenta.
