Saturday 9th October 2021

Bo'ness Athletic 1-2 Syngenta
Livingston United 0-0 West Calder United
Stoneyburn 4-1 Pumpherston
Whitburn 4-2 Bathgate Thistle

Syngenta strengthened their grip on this conference with a narrow win in the top-of-the table clash; though remember that as clubs play each other 3 times they still have to make another trip to Bo'ness Athletic in February, as well as hosting them at Ochilview over New Year.

Whitburn and Armadale worked hard to start breathing down Bo'ness Athletic's neck. Livingston Utd and West Calder did themselves no favours.

Went through last night. West Calder pulled a couple back having been 4-0 down at half time but it was very comfortable. The WCU goalie should have have saved 3/4 of them but it was a mismatch.

I wish people would stop using the word ‘Students’. They may be playing under the banner ‘College’ but it’s an open football club, open to all. Good performance today from EC. EC have a good starting eleven, unfortunately unable to field that 11 in only 3 games this season due to long term injuries. Their getting there in a tough starter league.

Fairly uninteresting day: top 3 all win and bottom pair share goalless draw. Whitburn were holding Syngenta to 1-1, but hosts unbeaten record ultimately survived.

Fauldhouse return to foot of Scottish leagues.
