Time for a steward's inquiry if that's how many Fauldhoose are losing by to Whitburn

Fauldhouse had a man sent off in first half and to be fair Whitburn had scored 103 goals before today and knew they had to match Syngenta.

I hadn't seen Fauldhouse this season, quite a few kids in the team. As sometimes happens in games like that, the goalkeeper played well and saved two penalties. No sign of Buster Keaton, just a good motivated team against a young, not very good team with nothing to play for.

Just a new manager to impress for Fauldhouse, their 3rd of a poor season. Morale pretty low in the village atm

It's a shame, it's definitely one of ,my favourite grounds. I can't say I would be confident bringing a couple of more experienced players would help. It'll need a few more, but you never know, it'll be a strange division next season.

You immune to midges? 🙂

Feels like Fauldhouse are stuck between fantasy and reality. 1st & 3rd managers talk big but little or no connection locally. Middle guy was local, seemed more realistic and realising it's a long haul for Fauldhouse from where they are atm.

As you say next season will be a test especially if Bo'ness Ath & Armadale Th produce anything like this season's form

On the bright side at least they didn't blow it over a goal celebration in their own half.

It will take longer than it should have (making no statement as to who is to blame for that) but think it can be confidently stated that they will in time get back to their natural habitat at tier 6 sort of level and eventually displace the likes of Crossgates, Inverkeithing and Blackburn from there.

Things don't look so rosy for Bathgate and Fauldhouse though...

Well done Whitburn on coming out on top of a very competitive conference X,with 4 teams battling it out 🙌

The togetherness and never say die attitude of the squad is 2nd to none 😍

Was well impressed with both Syngenta and Bo'ness Athletic, both have very good players, some should probably be playing at a higher level.

Bo'ness Athletic and Armadale will be hot favourites for promotion this time next year.

On Armadale they are a very good side, but when speaking to one of their fans at the recent 2-2 draw at the Volly, the old chestnut of only wanting to play local games was raised by him.............

I told him enjoy Division 3 next season then,Whitburn want up,see you at some point in the future !!

In terms of where responsibility lies for this though I'd say 90% self inflicted by the W Lothian clubs, 10% EoS. The EoS could have put an option of new Conferences for yet another season purely for the benefit of the W Lothian clubs but their allegiance went to the far larger number of clubs that had already moved and been given the promise of their future league structure. Overwhelmingly though this situation is down to those clubs which stuck two fingers up, repeatedly and vocally, embattled themselves into a West Lothian rump which would have had Tam Dalyell coining a new West Lothian Question which is simply "Why?". Btw there are still WL club committee men who rubbish the EoS and would jump at the chance to return to the Juniors. It's been a bizarre case of self harm for years now.

Just looking at the last proper Junior season of 2017-18, makes interesting reading.

Fauldhouse had just finished runners-up behind Musselburgh in the ERJFA Premier and were all set for the Superleague, however they remained staunch and now they're third bottom of the EoS pile and just humped 12-0 off their old rivals Whitburn.  Haddington and Blackburn finished 3rd and 5th respectively, both EoS Premier now. Tranent finished 8th.........

Bathgate were fourth bottom of the Premier and destined for the South Division, they also remained staunch and that downward spiral continued, second bottom of the EoS pile.

However Pumpherston had just won the South Division - 20 wins out of 26 - and heading for the Premier, again they remained staunch and were worst of the lot in the EoS this season. Armadale were runners-up behind them and looking at the Premier as well, they joined the rest in remaining staunch and this season, despite spending big, fell short and now face upto life in the EoS Third.

Whitburn are the one bright light, they were destined to be relegated along with Bathgate that season and remained staunch, but have at least managed to dig themselves out of the bottom division for next season, and they look good for next season as well.

Remaining loyal to the Juniors for too long has not been kind to these clubs.

On the the other hand Kirkcaldy YM were the worst team in the ERJFA that season, one point in total, now they're in the EoS First. Crossgates were 7th in the South Division, now comfortably in the EoS Premier, and Oakley finished 4th in the South, also now EoS Premier.  That said, most Fife clubs took another season to accept the reality.

Yup fair play to Whitburn, they've had a good season on and off the park with all their ground improvements too.
Mind you 21-0 on aggregate in two games at Park View helped but still takes some doing

Sadly, from both my own experience and from what I’ve heard from others, this isn’t at all unique. What it reveals is the fact that the blinkered mentality that underpinned so much of the ridiculous intransigence that ultimately helped lead to the sad demise of some fine clubs - some to a point where they might never fully recover to what they once were - has never really went away. Local games for local people. It’s such a sad refrain.

Not sure why the EOSFL named this "Division 1, Conference X", as if it were somehow at the same level as the other Conferences.  Playing strength wise, it is, but in fact, it was a Tier 9 league rather than a Tier 7 league like the other conferences, as the prize was promotion to Tier 8.  Makes no sense to get "promoted" to Tier 8 from Tier 7.  Whitburn's prize for winning the conference is to play 2 tiers below the other conference winners next season.

Thats because the structure was changed to accommodate the dinosaurs and the reality was that Conference X was always going to be the bottom division in any structure and there wasn't any tiers outside EOS prem this season as everyone knew the reasons behind the 2 conferences and X as not being fixed Divisions until season 2022/2023.

We are only now going into fixed tiers 7,8,9

The EoS membership chose to do what it chose to do, so Whitburn need to focus their energies on obtaining an entry level licence and securing two more promotions and not worry about decisions they can't undo. If they get themselves sorted out they should be able to operate at the same sort of level as Linlithgow Rose as was the case 20 years back.

No doubt a couple of sleeping giants in Whitburn and Armadale. From a Rose fan those games VS Whitburn at the end of the 90s we’re excellent.

It would be great to see you get to that level again but it’ll take a lot of hard work.
