Sygenta still favourites to win league - think Bo’ness have blown it now.
Syngenta 2 Bo'ness Athletic 2 Full-time this evening.

League :-
Whitburn 65 points (3 games to play)
Bo'ness Athletic 64 (only 2 to play)
Syngenta 63 (3)
Armadale 58 (3)

Syngenta have 3 easy games on paper.

Bo'ness have to win their last 2 games (which include a tricky trip to Armadale) and hope that Whitburn drop 5 points in their 3 matches:-
Armadale v Whitburn
Whitburn v Stoneyburn
Faildhouse v Whitburn.

Think it will end Whitburn champs,

As a Sygenta fan I wanted a good result tonight but not like that. That was poor from referee.

What was poor? That Bo'ness were more concerned about shouting to the crowd about their goal, all players were in their half and on the park, its a perfectly legal goal.

It was called celebrating and 5 players were off the park at the main stand.

Of course, deliberately leaving the field of play without the referees consent is a cautionable offence.

Top tip for these rookies. Always celebrate in the opponents half. The game definitely cannot be restarted if that is the case.

Law 12.3 "Leaving the field of play to celebrate a goal is not a cautionable offence"

Also, some hilarious comments from the Bo'ness Athletic manager https://www.falkirkherald.co.uk/sport/football/irvine-launches-tirade-at-controversial-goal-decision-that-could-have-cost-his-side-the-title-3690442

“Half of our players were off the park and he (the referee) has got to identify that both sides were ready to restart the game." - No, the referee just has to make sure that all players except the kicker are in their own half, and the opponents are 10 yards away from the ball to correctly kick-off. If Syngenta were ready to restart the game then it means you were delaying the restart...

“Imagine if that happened every match, no-one would celebrate near the corner of the pitch because the other team would go up and score." - Imagine being this clueless and not knowing the laws of the game you are competing in. If you score and celebrate in the corner you aren't in your own half...

Bo'ness Athletic deserve some sympathy here but, although it is harsh, they now have to just concentrate on the final games and to prove that they should be in the top two. Move on or be left behind in the race.

You're right, it's a shambles. I think you should withdraw from the last few games.

Bo'ness as well!

I've played non-league football myself, not exactly at an impressive standard, but after a goal we always made sure we'd only all go back to our half when we were ready as it's (or should be!) common knowledge that the referee can restart play as soon as everyone is on their own half.

From that video clip looks like 8 Athletic players involved in celebrating the goal when game restarted. Reckon 99% of refs wouldn't have done that.

The problem they have is they are all in there own half...mental...to busy noising up the home fans.

Have Sygenta players asked the question at the time? If they've said "Can we go?" there's nothing in the rules to stop him blowing the whistle. If he refuses then he gives Athletic an unfair advantage.
