Edinburgh College 0 v 1 Livingston Utd, best performance of the season so far from EC. Didn’t deserve to lose to a 94min goal. Looks good for the future boys, it’s coming together.

Is it the case no spectators are allowed to watch these home matches just now due to covid rules?

Armadale 8-0 Pumpherston

A double from  former Pumphy striker Kyle Sampson and a hatrick each from both Robbie Feeney and Fraser Keast gave Armadale an emphatic victory at Volunteer Park tonight.

Saturday 31st July
Bathgate Thistle v West Calder United
Edinburgh College v Fauldhouse United (3pm)
Livingston United v Bo'ness Athletic
Pumpherston v Syngenta
Stoneyburn v Armadale Thistle

There is no Friday night action in EOS this weekend although this lets U20s opening night take top billing.

Livingston has 2 senior clubs now and United host the big-ticket encounter as 3rd faces 2nd in X conference. Syngenta pursue another win at reeling Pumpherston.

Whitburn are the odd club and take up an EOS Qualifying Cup R2 tie at home to Premier visitor Camelon.

Was at the Oriam today for Edinburgh College 0 v Fauldhouse 0. Game of 2 halves with Fauldhouse on top in the first, and the College the 2nd. Impressed by the College in the 2nd half, despite going down to 9 men, albeit late on, as well as having their manager sent off, by a card happy ref. Entertaining match with lots of effort from both sides, and several efforts off the woodwork for the home team, whose keeper had some brilliant stops late on.

Pumpherston 1-5 Syngenta

Another comprehensive win for  unbeaten Syngenta theyre going to be hard to beat this season its all going to come down to their games against Armadale and Boness Ath.

Bathgate got their first win of season against West Calder with a last minute winner at Creamery Park.

South, West, Midland and North Juniors are playing 5 or 6 straight; but the East takes a break this midweek, giving squads a couple of training sessions and general recharge of batteries.

With cup-ties dominating next weekend and the following midweek - also a good point to take stock. Syngenta and Bo'ness Athletic certainly the big noises so far. Fauldhouse may be disappointed with their start, while Pumpherston very erratic. Stoneyburn alone have yet to record a win.

I notice Fauldhouse, Livingston United, and West Calder are down to play on 21st August, despite also being listed on the SJFA website as playing in the Junior Cup that day - are the league games going to take preference to the cup or will they be moved to the 28th?

Edit: plus Syngenta and Stoneyburn on Friday 20th.

To answer my own question, Fauldhouse and Livi have been moved to the following Saturday and West Calder's cup game to midweek. Bathgate still down as playing on the Friday night, next day they are at home to Vale of Leven in the Junior Cup...
