League Cup 21/22 Group A

That's Mr Tokely to you and this is not anywhere on his seethometer.

I seem to remember the Inverness CT cup tie at Forthbank (not the last one that went to the TV replay but the one previous to that) MikeTheHeadlessChicken screaming at Ross Tokely, “……..Tokely ya wife beating b*****d!!!!!” at the end of some constructive criticism.

We also won on pens at Meadowbank one midweek.  Probably the Challenge Cup or something like that.  Mid 90s I think.

We may have got beat 3-0 on pens at Tannadice, but we did beat Brechin 3-0 on penalties the previous season.

Lest we forget the 2nd greatest League Cup tie at Forthbank. We were 2-0 down and man sent off against Stenny at 75min. Managed to get an equaliser in the 5 minute of non-existent injury time sending the Stenny Manager John McVeigh into full on bam mode. He went absolutely mental at the ref.
Stenny scored in extra time only for 10 man Stirling to score in the 4th minute of non-existent injury time at the end of extra time.
John McVeigh turned his bam mode up to 11 at the ref.
Stirling win the penalty shootout. Think you can work out the next bit.

Bloody hell, I've had a mare here. I canny believe I'd forgotten all those shoot out victories. Especially that Stenny one, what a night that was.

I hope Manny Duku isn't one of these players that starts the season well for us and then becomes non existent around October and spending the rest of the season on the bench before being released in May 2022 and signing for Kelty Hearts?

Kelty have higher standards than that…and Manny sticks around until December.

Dry your eyes pal.

Ma Pilla will be bone dry in the mornin knowing that Stirling Albion will remain floundering in the lower reaches of Scottish Football for years to come, and sadly you know it to, having said that I admire your supporting resilience which is the real foundation of our football and  without that level of undying support Scottish football would be a lot less.

Dodds will be sacked before Xmas based on todays performance

Two early goals which even surprised the Stirling players, and questions for signing a rated? central defender.
We came back into the game but again as in Tuesday we changed out so many players which obviously changed our shape.
We by far, with Carson, Doran and Walsh skillfully outplayed the Stirling defense but couldn't score, Stirling meanwhile resorted to thuggery professionally by blindsiding the referee most times by fouling disgracefully when they were skillfully left in our wake.
I don't for one minute grudge them the win given that we couldn't convert but I wish them well in what will be, after Hearts, their biggest game of the season.

We had a lot of the ball but didn't create too many clear cut chances. From an ICT perspective the defending for the second goal was a shambles. Carson completely switched off and let his man run off him. Nice free kick for the opener but I can't help but feel we didn't defend that set piece particularly well either. A couple of nice passing moves at the edge of the box saw us score two decent goals and although we dominated in terms of attacking with Stirling content to sit back and hit on the counter we struggled to really test the keeper. Doran had the best chance to win it when he sclaffed a shot wide with only the keeper to beat. That said, Stirling looked decent on the counter and although Broadfoot was pretty decent for most of the game he did have a comedy mishap with Deas (I think) where the two of them went for the ball and both missed it leading to a clear chance for Albion to grab a winner but they hit the post / bar. That penalty shoot out was pretty rotten. Almost as bad as the one between the two sides back in 2017 in the same competition.

That's us possibly out of the competition already as we will probably need to do our usual of get at least a point from Hearts or avoid losing 3 - 0 only to contrive to lose 4 - 0. Meh.

On the plus side it was great being back at a game again.

Big game tonight at Forthbank, first competitive match with fans this season at home. Can the Binos upset the odds and spring a surprise, lets hope so.

Dont expect much but hope for a decent performance from the team. If we get anything tonight it will be a bonus. 😀

Albion have started both halves well.
Hopefully Hearts finish the second as they did the first.
At least the stream is better this half.

I’m listening to the cricket instead . The match stats suggest that Stirling put up a good fight to begin with and then faded. Would that be about right?

What the hell is going on In Aberdeen?

Paul Hartley knows that Billy Dodds is the real wee fucking, ugly fat tramp despite his own reputation IMO.
