Could have been 8 or 9 with a bit more care with the final ball into the box. Straightforward enough but Brechin were truly honking. Hope for their sake they're planning some major recruitment moved or they're not going to be close to getting out of the Highland League

It was a straightforward win  but probably not as  convincing as you are making out.   Considering most of these guys have just been working together for at best 3 weeks , I think they did ok .

Believe me , they are a big improvement on what we had to endure for the last 2-3 years.

A lot of work going on at the club both on and off the park just now . Recruitment is in progress and we should be in a better place by the time this pre season stuff is out of the way. 👍

Wouldn’t read too much for you in the games versus ourselves and Livingston as there’s a few divisions between the teams and it’s almost always going to be a keep the score respectable barring a serious shock. Your defence and Keeper did well  until the goal then the game obviously changed and Brechin had to come out.  Think your manager got it wrong second half as he obviously told your guys to close down the space and give us less time on the ball, unfortunately we’re a good passing team and this made it easy to tire out your front men and midfield and inevitably the gaps start to open.  Thought your lads gave a good account of themselves and even when you were beaten there was no really bad challenges as you sometimes get in this type of game (Davo was suspended 😂) interesting to see how you get on against Alloa and Cowdenbeath as it’ll give you a better understanding of where you are going into the league. Best of luck to you guys in the Highland League campaign and trying to get back up.

Yeah sounds similar to our game against them, first half was pretty defensive and only went in a goal down, 2nd half they came at us more pressing higher up the pitch and we were able to get in behind their defence a lot more, and scored a couple more goals.

Rovers dominated but couldn’t take their chances until the Vaughan goal. Suspect Brechin will tire as this game progresses. Not the most dynamic of performances but no need to panic.

If that was against a championship side I'd fear we would struggle with that team as it was today. Very weak up top. The new guy from Livi is rancid and plays in the style of the players we already have. We need a robust striker and a holding midfielder ASAP.

Regardless of what your impressions are of anyone’s performance in an individual game, really not a fan of calling any Rovers player ‘rancid’.

Anyone from Brechin/Raith able to clarify their clubs current stance on away fan access to their home games? Just planning ahead to next week when Alloa due to face both teams away.

From what I can see online, looks like Raith let away fans into Starks for Brechin game and no away fans had access to Brechin vs Livingston?

Realise this is something of a moving feast, and by Monday it could all change anyway.

Correct, a few Brechin fans were at Stark’s Park Tuesday, tickets were purchased for access by stand, with a scheduled arrival slot set with the purchase (but, honestly, not heavily enforced per reports). However, the tickets were offered to ST holders first, so a sellout to ST holders is possible, if unlikely, and might prohibit visiting fans. For Brechin, the remaining tickets went on sale four days before the match, which would be about Tuesday, the 20th. Best bet is watch raithrovers.net for news story that will contain a ticket purchase link.

No refreshments were available for purchase at the first two attended matches.

FYI, just posted in Raith Forum. Applies to a friendly testimonial game, will have to see if it carries over to Cup Matches.

“Fans being encouraged to bring their own snacks tonight as pie stalls remains closed. Plastic bottles will be permitted but not rigid plastic. Will be fun and games watching stewards try and differentiate between the two.”

Disappointed he's never played for Brechin. Wonder how many players have played for every team in their group at some point.

Liam Buchanan did play for us sort of.  He played as a trialist when Ray McKinnon was in charge.  Unfortunately we had Robert Thomson, Bobby Barr, Andy Jackson and Alan Trouten up top so there wasn't much room for Liam if he was in with a shout.  If i recall it was just before he signed on for Alloa.
