HibeeJibee
Biggest cup in Scottish non-league football gets going this weekend with a variety of all-EOS clashes as well as other ties versus Lowland and West of Scotland opposition. Fauldhouse is unable to raise an XI to visit Preston. There are attractive derbies in Edinburgh Uni-HW Uni and Haddington-Dunbar. Camelon and Linlithgow face tough Kirkintilloch and 'Shire. Dundonald and Oakley should be favourites against Bellshill and Kilsyth Athletic. Pumpherston will hope to shock toiling Vale. Saturday 11th September 2021 (North-East Zone) Bellshill Athletic v Dundonald Bluebell Camelon v Kirkintilloch Rob Roy East Stirlingshire v Linlithgow Rose Hill of Beath Hawthorn v Sauchie Kinnoull v Lochgelly Albert Oakley United v Kilsyth Athletic Syngenta v Newburgh (South-East Zone) Craigroyston v Armadale Thistle Edinburgh South v Whitburn Edinburgh University v Heriot-Watt University Haddington Athletic v Dunbar United Musselburgh Athletic v Tynecastle Preston Athletic C-C Fauldhouse United Pumpherston v Vale of Leithen Tranent v Livingston United Whitehill Welfare v Coldstream

Andy groundhopper
Are all the latest p-p games all down to covid related stuff ? or are clubs genuinely struggling to get players ? Hope it doesn't get widespread around the non league. A cracking cup draw, the regionalisation may help with crowds in the early stages, has to be applauded Could grow into an excellent cup - what rewards for the winners ?

Man from the East
On 28/05/2021 at 23:25, HibeeJibee said: South Challenge Cup entry swells to an enormous 161 clubs. Go back 4yrs and this cup had 43 entrants. There are 33 ties & 95 byes in R1 - then 'Last 128' in R2. However due to the national emergency the opening 2 rounds are regionalised into 4 zones. East clubs from Fife, Perthshire, Clackmannanshire and Falkirk - plus Linlithgow - find themself placed into North-East Zone alongside clubs in North Lanarkshire. All the others from across the Lothians, Borders and Northumberland find themself in South-East Zone. In effect the South-West Zone amounts to South Lanarkshire, East + South Ayrshire plus Dumfries & Galloway; the North-West Zone amounts to the rest of Strathclyde. North-East clubs could meet the likes of Bo'ness Utd, East Stirlingshire, Cumbernauld Utd and Kirkintilloch Rob Roy... South-East clubs could meet the likes of Civil Service, Spartans, Bonnyrigg, Gala and Berwick. There could also be plenty derbies thrown-up. I'd particularly like to see a Bo'ness derby, a Berwick derby or a Cumbernauld derby. Draw is Friday at 7pm. Most teams will get a bye in R1. Win in R2 and they're into all-in R3 - the 'Last 64' - where opponents from the Glasgow area, Ayrshire, Dumfries & Galloway and even Campbeltown in Argyll could await. knew I should have bought a car with satnav

HibeeJibee
Fabulous showing by East of Scotland clubs as Dundonald thumped Bellshill... Camelon beat Kirkintilloch... Oakley dispatched Kilsyth Athletic... Pumpherston of Conference X demolished Vale of Leithen of Lowland... and Linlithgow won at East Stirlingshire. Only the defeat of Heriot-Watt Uni, on penalties away to Edinburgh Uni, prevented a full complement from moving into R2. Other shocks included Haddington beating Dunbar, Coldstream winning at Whitehill, and in SW section Whitletts winning at Dalbeattie.
