Looks a tremendous draw, tbh, always going to have a few problems early doors, but this is the biggest non league cup in Scotland now - the Junior Cup WAS great I agree. The zones are helping clubs, hopefully fans are allowed back and give these clubs bumper gates and £££ galore.

it's weird that people would see a competition full of either old foes from the Junior cup days or new sides that they may never have played and thing "nah this is shite" unless they were just being willfully miserable.

It will never replace the excitement of the Junior Cup in it's pomp in my eyes, but sadly that competition had lost so much value after the East teams left en mass that it was a mercy to end it and this new offering is preferable proposition with a bit of renewed life about it.

I can't see why any club in the draw wouldn't see it as a massive honor to win this cup, particularly those Junior sides looking to lay down a marker.

Tie of the next round has to be Girvan -v- Maybole. 🙂

That is, If you don't count Linlithgow Rose -v- Camelon....Which I don't.

Lot of interesting local clashes in R2... Dundonald v Crossgates; Linlithgow v Camelon; Thornton v Lochore; Blackburn v Stoneyburn; Bonnyrigg v Arniston; Coldstream v Tweedmouth; LTHV v Civil Service; Newtongrange v Tranent (tbc); West Calder v Bathgate; Girvan v Maybole; Glenafton v Kello; Finnart v BSCG; Irvine Meadow v Kilwinning; Yoker v Drumchapel; and a few within Glasgow.

Also inter-league tantalisers like Jeanfield v Broomhill, Berwick v Broxburn, Cumbernauld Utd v Inverkeithing and Darvel v Gretna.

Where is the final of this cup usually played and how many years has it been going for?
Im finding it hard to really care about this cup but that’d probably change if we win against the buffs today.
Started in 2007 but the lineage goes back to 1931 as the competition is a sucessor of sorts to the old South Qualifying Cup that was scrapped when the SFA Cup was restructured.

Venue wise it's been a mix of SPFL grounds & non-league grounds. No venue set in stone for this season far as I'm aware but suspect it'll be an SPFL ground.
