Fae_the_'briggs
The SPFL Trust Trophy, formerly the Challenge Cup, will apparently not include Welsh, ROI, N. Irish or English teams when it next commences. Is this a good or bad thing? Is the Trophy even worth bothering about? Discuss.
Guest Flash
“Up to 12” Premiership B teams plus 4 Lowland League and 4 Highland League teams. Starts on 10 August with those teams plus L2 and bottom 6 L1. https://spfl.co.uk/news/spfl-trust-trophy-format-dates
drs
It'll always be the B&Q Cup to me.
vikingTON
What a decrepit format and set of clubs involved. A complete waste of everyone's time.
invergowrie arab
Cant United's youths learning a lot and kicking on in their careers after losing on penalties to Fraserburgh. An utter waste of everyone's time and effort and sticking a wedge in the door for B teams Edited May 20, 2021 by invergowrie arab
Marten
I didn't mind the "foreign" teams, I'd rather they scrapped the B-teams & add some HL/LL teams instead.
Sherrif John Bunnell
I quite liked the foreign teams being involved. The B teams can gtf.

FairWeatherFan
I see they got the message from the OF it's not Colts or u20s/u21s anymore it's 'B' teams.
the jambo-rocker
Get the whole pyramid involved and patch the B teams FFS Edited May 20, 2021 by the jambo-rocker
parsforlife
This seasons format was by far the best in years, don’t know why we need to change from it.
David W
I am disappointed, but not surprised, that the clubs haven't seen fit to boot out the colt and Lowland league teams in retaliation for their nonsense recently. Does this mean there will actually be 6 Lowland league sides involved? And what is meant by "B" teams?
Benidorm
No surprise it couldn't attract a sponsor either. Shithouse of a tournament organised by useless p***ks.

Quite literally given that Warren Hawke has slithered his way to the SPFL Trust.
mrman2011
I'm excited that the Under 21's will remain in the competition. This is the way forward for the improvement, Development and struture of Scottish Football moving forward -

Could also suggest another relaxtion of the age restrictions? Over the last 4yrs they've already raised the limit once or twice, plus allowed some over-age players, IIRC. Also wonder if "up to 12" phrase implies the 'B'-teams will be permitted to opt-out.
ropy
I’m not convinced we have a B team
DA Baracus
The 'B' teams will probably just be the same youth teams we've seen from the Premiership sides before.
the snudge
They should open up the pyramid rather than the B teams
