Clarke had the choice to pick the best team or reward the guys that had got us through qualification. Despite the euphoria of Serbia, the realism is that we qualified through the back door against teams that are of a lower quality than those we are facing. We should have gone with absolute talent and the best available. That Adams didn’t start was criminal. Arguably Gilmour and Paterson also. We went with known but limited players when we should have gambled with unknown but ability. In fairness to the right CB, he should be stepping out when they're playing 3v1. I would ask why the other 2 CB's haven't sorted themselves out behind him from that picture. Hanley and Cooper need to shuffle over when Hendry steps forward.
