Scotland v Czech

There isn't much between the sides. However, the Czechs have a quality Centre Forward and we don't - that's the difference. As a unit they aren't markedly better than us.

However... our defence looks vulnerable. Very bad goal to lose with 3 CBs on the pitch and only one opposition striker and the less said about SOD the better.

Up till the goal, Hanley was probably our best player. Overall, we've been pretty poor.

This tactic of pass it between the back 3 then hoof it forward is a brutal one.

Needs the midfield to get on the ball and be positive, rather than every pass be backwards. McGinn, McTominay and Armstrong have been passengers.

Christie carrying on his club form and SOD, as honest as he is (certainly not hiding) is playing above his ability at a major tournament.

Scotland do… but he’s on the bench.

O’Donnell has been absolutely shocking. Looks like a competition winner. If he’s not tackling his own players he’s giving the ball away and was too slow in the build up to the goal. Why he’s starting and a demonstrably better player like Shaun Rooney is sat at home is baffling.

Was just thinking that Marcus Fraser would be doing a better job on current form as well.

Get Turnbull on.

He always looks to take the ball on and move forward.

This. We'll now be playing 45 minutes against a team who sit in and try and counter. There'll be no space so we'll need players capable of creating something.

Patterson has bollocks so will actually take someone on, unlike SOD who just passes back to Hendry constantly. Armstrong just isn't working. McGinn will probably be useless if we have a lot of possession.

SOD, McGinn, Armstrong off, Patterson, Gilmour and Turnbull on. Try and get players beating their opponents all over the park, drag folk out of position.

Swapping strikers right now would be imbecilic. The problem is that they've identified that SOD is trivially pressed and the midfield is only there to make sure there are 11 bodies on the park. Shelling it into the adjacent postcode of a different striker is not going to fix that.

Yeah this for me. Turnbull for Armstrong and Adams for Dykes as a matter of urgency. We can't afford to wait until the last 15 mins to make changes or it'll be too late.
