St. Johnstone vs. Livi

Recommended Posts

The referee enjoyed booking Liam Craig far to much there. Quite sad really. He'll be dreaming about that one tonight.
Think he was booked more for his protestation. Shortly before that he'd been spoken to about mouthing off

We look an awful lot like a team who hasn’t trained properly for a week or two. I don’t think this is the game for Melamed - feel like Kane would give this back line a harder time.

Tight and tense - no surprise at all.

Happy with the score, performance has been a bit meh though.

Livingston seemed determined to make this a battle, which maybe isn't the best plan as its making it stop start. A lot of our players have struggled to train/play over the past week or two, so making them work should really be the gameplan I'd have thought?

Doubt it'll be long until we bring Kane on.

Harsh, IMO.

He's getting little help from May in terms of battling the two CBs for long balls, and is doing a half decent job of holding the ball up at times.

Maybe wrong choice of words. He’s not coped well against the two big centre halves anyway. Not his type of game.

Will probably fair better against someone like Porteous who thinks he’s a footballer! 🤣

We really need to come out and go for the win here. Sitting back as if we need the draw

Nobody making forward runs and when we get the ball in midfield we're having to turn back waiting on support. Looks like Martindale has the shackles on us, scared we'll concede a goal. But we need to win this so we need to be more adventurous making runs.

Just now, Cptn Hooch said:

Bartley catches a player with an arm = booking
Craig does the same thing to Bartley = no booking

He should be off there

Ok well you’ll agree Fitzwater should also be off for the second motion elbow into McCarts face?

This is exactly what I expected , Martindale is not adventurous enough in my opinion.more interested in not losing and look to sneak a goal. we get the ball and are more interested in playing the ball either to the side or back to hold on to possession. We need to get the ball forward quicker and, that's where we are dangerous.
