... and still they come pouring in.

Part of me wonders if players are going to be sick of friendlies by mid-July! Some clubs have 8, 10, or more lined-up.

On flipside now only 3 days without any (Wednesday 9th June; Thursday 10th June; Friday 2nd July).

Sunday 13th June
West Calder United v Thorniewood AFC

Tuesday 15th June
Stoneyburn v Shotts Bon Accord

Saturday 26th June
Stoneyburn v St Anthonys

Tuesday 29th June
Leven United AFC v St Andrews United

Wednesday 7th July
Stoneyburn v Ladywell Star AFC

Saturday 10th July
Stoneyburn v Third Lanark AFC

I suppose after the long lay off players will just be glad to be back playing.

Some clubs do seem to have gone to the excess mind you.

Greenlaw AFC 0-9 (nine) Tranent

My first live game since 22nd February 2020.

Visitors dominant as befits their status.

Early on this preseason friendly felt well-balanced, but right after the 1st half waterbreak Tranent struck from the edge of the box, then quickly added 3 more from a header, a penalty and a well-worked attack. HT 0-4. Hosts recovered their poise, conceding once at hour mark, only to wilt in the heat and let 4 more in late on.

Penultimate horrendously offside. Last was final kick.

MotM for me Greenlaw's 'keeper which tells its own story.

Tranent are assembling a formidable squad to challenge on all fronts.

Crowd around 90.

Glorious weather. Herons flapped overhead, butterflies danced among waterbottles, and Ricky Miller piroueted in the daisies. Football was back and it was good.

Jason Leitch will be pissing his pants at that photo- don't Whitburn know selling pies leads to the spread of Covid. Or at least it does at Euro Championship matches at Hampden....

Kilbirnie were selling pies and taking cash payments . There will a Garnock Valley variant in a couple of weeks now......

Friendlies?

Fife Cup?

Must be friendly games St Andrews arn't members of the Fife FA and as far as I know there hasn't been any draw for next season.

I'd have thought if it was the Fife Cup it would have been announced as such to help publicise it.

While it probably isn't for the Cup, didn't the likes of HoB get accepted into the Fife FA provisionally as they only had to get their SFA membership confirmed at the SFA AGM. St Andrews could be in the same situation if the Fife Cup is happening this year.

HOB and Dundonald got acepted at the 2019 when they were told they were going to be successful in their license applications.

Whitburn vs camelon abandonded about 10 mins into 2nd half. Jack Simpson broke his ankle had to wait on an ambulance. Horrible challenge. Camelon were playing some good stuff. Shouldnhave had a free kick on edge of box just before half time red bottle it as he would have had to send the boy off. Whitburn were winning 1-0
