You waited 13 days to post on this forum.  Had Aberdeen won you'd have been on here in a flash.

You didn't.  Next week you will get to watch either us win the Scottish cup or St Johnstone win an incredible double.  Something you have waited far far longer for than 10 years.

Enjoy it.

That right aye. Im just not on this forum very often.

St Johnstone would deserve nothing but praise for a double.

Quick question , if Hibs lose the final next week would you judge this season as successful overall for Hibs?

Well yeah, but that's because you mostly come to P&B to gloat on match threads where Hibs lose and we've not being too much of that recently.

Hopefully Aberdeen and Cove end up in the same league soon so that you guys can give up these unrequited rivalries with other teams.

Hugh Shaw's "Famous Five" team began to falter in the 1953/54 season.

The season after Her Majesty's coronation.

68 seasons ago.

The opiate ingesters have finished 2nd twice since: in consecutive mid-70s seasons under Eddie Turnbull. In the second of those campaigns, they made the League Cup final and lost 6-3 to Celtic.

This is the eighth time they've finished 3rd since 1953. In one of those seasons - 72/73, under Turnbull - they won the League Cup. In another - 00/01, under Alec McLeish - they reached the Scottish Cup final. In two other 3rd-placed seasons (94/95 and 04/05) they made the SC semi finals.

Eight of their sixteen cup final appearances in the last 70 years have been in seasons when they've finished outwith the top six.

They won the SC and lost the LC final in 2016, when they finished 3rd in the second tier.

By most measures, 3rd place in the League, a SC final and a LC semi would represent their best trophyless season for a while. Probably since 52/53, when they were denied a hat-trick of League titles on goal average by a late Harland & Wolff Works XI equaliser at Palmerston on the last day of the season.

It's hard to see how the average banana flats spoonburner could fail to see this as a successful season. However, we are discussing a fanbase amongst whom "Yes" had a majority for several hours in a Miggs.Net "Should Jack Ross Be Sacked?" poll after the St.Johnstone LC semi defeat only four months ago, so, as a man who preferred coke to smack once sang, you never can tell.

🙄😑

Boyle is limited though. It's why he is at Hibs. A player with his raw attributes is nowhere near Scottish football unless it's a season or two at one of the filth before moving on to a decent team down south. It's not a knock on the guy. He absolutely makes the most of what he has but his end product is often non existent. Compare him to Matty Kennedy/Jonny Hayes. All three are very wasteful with their final ball. Boyle's pace gives him a lot more chances to get it right.
I don't think there is much between the two sides in the grand scheme of things. There isn't much of the Hibs team I'd take in place of their opposing player at Aberdeen. The main difference is the three I would take. They have almost as many goals between them as our whole team has for the season.
That is absolute shite. Boyle is still at Hibs only because he's had two cruciate injuries. He's the most improved player over a period of time I've ever seen in Scottish football. He developed composure which rarely happens. He's still quick, but he lifts his head now. He had raw talent when he first got to Hibs, but it's developed into a player no team in the league wants to play against.

He'd have waited until January to see his options if he was good enough to head down the road. It's easy to be blinded when it's your own player. Happens to all of us.

No-one wants to play against him because he's ridiculously fast and direct. Again, it's a compliment. Would have loved to have had him at Aberdeen this season.

Unrequited? Hibs fans have flooded the Aberdeen pages 😆

I would have thought rivalries with other teams wouldnt be something you would bring up given how your main rival almost always beat you!

These teuchters are worse than the Grangemouth breathers.

Absolutely desperate to invent a rivalry with Hibs.

Top trolling

Given this is the first season in 10 we've noticed you i would suggest a "rivalry" with Hibs is fairly unnecessary for Aberdeen fans.

Its taken 15 years for you to finish this high in the league and you have the Scottish cup in the bag, so stop obsessing with Aberdeen 😄

Went for a bevvy yesterday afternoon and woke up feeling slightly rough 🤢

The turn this thread has taken since I went out is absolutely brilliant and cheered me up no end.

Magnificent to see the return of @afc_blockhead, his clever witticisms and intelligent analysis are the content I crave.....................

Aberdeen FC = small club, bad at football, don't have many fans.

What's this? Trolling for primary school children? Put a bit of effort into it at least.

You'd think supporters of a team who've just equalled their best league finish this century and who might be picking up their third Scottish Cup in 119 years might have better things to do than try to wind up fans of a team founded 28 years after theirs, who, despite only winning 1 trophy in the last 30 years, have won the same number of league titles, (currently) twice as many Scottish Cups, twice as many Scottish League Cups, 2 more European trophies, more League and Cup doubles, more cup doubles and despite being absolutely shite for most of the last 30 years have managed to avoid being relegated.

They have a city rival though, which we can’t compete with. And it hurts us more than we’ll ever admit.

Pity they keep missing each other by being in different divisions.
