Play Off Final Airdrie Vs Morton

Recommended Posts

Very attacking display by Morton. Well in control. To be fair to Gus when the chips were down with us he always seemed to get huge performances out of his players when we were in a must win relegation scrap.

Airdrie look piss poor but if they can somehow sneak the next goal Morton could shit the bed, just can't see them scoring though.

Oh there we go. Game over.

We needed to get into half-time without conceding again - that’s it done.

Really gutted at how poor we’ve been over the two games - as others have said, injuries to 4 or 5 key players  and the hectic schedule have done us, but we should still be putting up a better fight than this.

Tuesday’s performance was disappointing but somewhat understandable given the injuries both before and during the game. We weren’t threatening at all going forward but we were at least organised defensively.

This is a shambles though. Yes we’re missing 4 starters (5 really given Kerr was clearly unfit) but that doesn’t justify playing so many players out of position and being such a mess all over the park.

I think we had to make it to half-time at 1-0 to have any chance of pulling this back but that’s it done now.

This feels like Ayr's semi-final trip to Central Park in 2014 where, already trailing 2-1 from the home leg, they proceeded to make a categorically rubbish Cowdenbeath look like the actual Brazil. The only consolation is that they then did the same to Dunfermline in the final, lol.
