2021 Scottish Cup Final (Hibernian v St.Johnstone)

Recommended Posts

Yeah, they've claimed that Hampden somehow can't have fans because UEFA are "preparing it" for games almost a month later.
Then made some half arsed excuse about no other ground in the country wanting to host it.

The thing about Hampden is very clearly true given that last season's and this season's finals were both originally scheduled for early May for exactly this reason.

There's no doubt they could have tried harder to have it elsewhere though.

I’m all sorted to watch the game in the Harp. It’s going to be a great occasion to see people I’ve not seen for months and even longer. It’ll be even better if Hibs come out on top.

Did you have to call up to book?

eta, just remembeed its ticket only

Yet Wembley, which is hosting it’s first game at the Euros a day before Hampden can have fans for the FA Cup final on the same day as this game. Amazingly this thing about Uefa taking control of the stadium seems not to apply there. The total acceptance of the SFA saying this without anyone questioning it is crazy

As they're facing Hibs in a Scottish Cup Final at this stage I'd like to congratulate St Johnstone on their Cup double and look forward to the cup being paraded through Perth on a tractor trailer ("lazy stereotype" copyright S Cosgrove)

Wembley is a more modern stadium which is used by UEFA much more often, that is going to have to play a part in how much work UEFA need to do.

If you think the SFA are lying about this, why do you think they had to schedule the Scottish Cup final for early May in each of the last two seasons?

Less confident about our chances of winning this than I was about the 2016 final tbh.

Hibs have hibsed every cup final they’ve played (even the one they won) & Saints have never lost a Scottish cup final.

Going ng to be a cracker!

In what way? They scored a last minute winner against Rangers and lorded it over their fans on the pitch afterwards, doesn't get much better than that i'd imagine.

They should have been 3-0 up & were losing with 10 minutes to go!

Hibsed it early so they got to come back.

I don’t fancy us for this at all like.

Feel it’s a bit of a hiding to nothing.

Win: Spend the next however many years wishing we had been able to go

Lose: Hibsed it again etc, missed a chance for group stage European football.

Sure it’ll be good vibes on the day but it all feels a bit flat tbh, anyhow I chucked £30 on The Saintees to win the cup after they beat Rangers so at least that’ll be something if we do lose.

I only know that because it was on on Friday.

Stokes was so good, Rangers were pretty bad.

Is this exclusively on Premier Sports or are BBC sharing it as well?

It’s shared. It’s one of the listed events that needs to be FTA in Scotland.

Will someone please wrap Murray fucking Davidson up in cotton wool for this one. Please? We can’t keep getting to cup finals only for him to miss out.

I’m serious about Easter Road, Hibs waive the rental charge & play the game there with some fans.

Only because we always win at Easter Road 😉

Agreed. It would be criminal for him to miss out again.
