invergowrie arab
They are the party of federalism. You must all remember Alex Cole Hamiltons firebrand speeches demanding more powers for Holyrood and Willie Rennie chaining himself to the Holyrood doors over the Tories post Brexit power grab

Before I became a civil servant and surrendered all publicly expressible political views it is a matter of public record that I asked what the point of the Liberal Democrats was if their Unionism was to become unconditional. It was precisely why I resigned from that party in November 2016.

sophia
They've dined with the devil again. WWR should've chased DRoss and his digital britnat take on democracy. The sweep from Argyll, north through Lochaber, Inverness and Ross-shire, now certainly joined by Caithness look gone forever and Firth there is grave doubt. All that remains are a couple of seats mostly gifted by Tories. It was conspicuous this morning that Lorna Slater got BBC air time and WWR did not. Bye bye WWR, bye bye ACH and hello to a balanced two by two constitutional debate with Anas Sarwar "on a journey".
Merkie84
In any normal country, after the absolute shoeing they have taken electorally along with labour, those 2 parties would be looking to merge. There not much difference between the slim offerings both parties offer on their manifestos anyway. Alas, Scotland is not a normal country yet and the branch offices will continue to do what they are told and they will stubbornly continue to circle the drain,

Granny Danger
Lib Dem’s are people who want to be able to say “Well I didn’t vote Conservative” whilst secretly celebrating the fact that others did.
Salt n Vinegar
I have a pal who worked in the two Councils who used to say that some LibDems were ok in the pub but they tried at all costs to avoid being trapped in the same room as a difficult decision. Their favourite means of avoiding supporting a controversial motion or amendment was to propose more consultation or abstain.
