It's a bit messy- between the bypass and Commy Pool is one No enclave while the posh neighbours of the egg chasers is the other. They'd have to be Ceuta and Melilla style colonies

I mean, you're looking for an area with a distinctly different culture than it's neighbour, right? One that was largely autonomous until the expansionist state next door to it destroyed that autonomy by forcing a complete realignment of society? That expansionist state then embarked on a programme of ethnic cleansing that was only stopped by the central government after large public outcry finally forced it to oppose the interests of the ruling class?

The area is the Highlands and Islands. The expansionist state was Scotland (and after 1707, it was the UK).

History is instructive. Therefore, the new boundary is Dalwhinnie, and everything south of it stays in England. We just go back to how things were before Culloden in 1745.

i mean it actually happened though lol. James IV subjugated the Isles and the west Highlands after they entered into a treaty with the English. The Earldom of Orkney was ceded to the Scottish crown after Margaret was betrothed to James III, and then two years later was revoked from the Earl by James III.

Scottish (and UK post 1707) monarchs hated the clan system and  tried to destroy it for hundreds of years, because it limited the control that Scottish monarchs had over the area. They tried to force clan chiefs into Scottish/British society for centuries, with the last stand for the old way of life being Culloden. The reprisals after that were pretty brutal.

As for the Clearances, that was only stopped after the Crofters Party was effectively assimilated into the Liberal Party at Westminster, which passed the Crofters Holdings Act in 1886. One in the eye for the Scottish nobility responsible for the Clearances.

There was always a far more distinct cultural boundary between the Highlands and rScotland than the Lowlands and England. Therefore, it's only right that we recognise the past, and cede everything south of Pitlochry to the Crown. Hopefully, that area will renounce its expansionist past.

Exactly where they are today plus Berwick! 

I know the thread is humourous, but remember it was 40% for the SNP in the three constituencies and you don't need to go too far back to when most consitituencies across Scotland were polling below 20% for the SNP so the south is hardly a lost cause.
