Might be quite hard for some of the fighters to distance themselves from Kinahan, especially the ones that posed for pictures with him wearing t-shirts that say ‘No Drugs, No Champions’ on the front of them.

Seems fine.  Nothing to see here. 😐

Boxing has a long history of involvement by criminals. From the mafia having significant interests in the fight game for many decades to Ambrose amends managing and advising fighters in the 80s and 90s.

Nothing new but gives a bit more flavour. Scott Brown involved too of course! Need to scroll down a bit on first link. Second goes in to more detail on some pretty horrific background context.

Irish journalist Nicola Tallant has been one of the leading reporters on the Kinahan cartel - in her podcast at the weekend, she interviewed Russell Findlay.  He is currently a Tory MSP but until last year was a crime reporter for The Sun, infamously he had acid thrown in his face on his doorstep by someone who didn't like something he'd written.

The podcast covers the links between the Kinahan cartel and the Lyons crime family, touching on some of the things and people discussed in this thread, including boxing and the allegation that at lesat one and possbikily more football clubs in Scotland are controlled by organised crime.

Is a crime journalist becoming a Tory MSP a case of poacher turned gamekeeper......

Despite armed police looking for a shotgun-toting lad who was spending fistful of cash and telling folk “Dode Baigrie paid me £10k to kill Brad Welsh”, the police didn’t get round to telling Bradley this. They also haven’t prosecuted anyone for paying the hitman, or looked in to how it is that person had so much cash to hand out to folk for killing or attempting to kill associates of an Edinburgh drug baron.

Why does the trail end with the guy who pulled the trigger? There’s a very clear trail of money and motives that for some strange reason has not been followed.

As I said earlier on the thread the boy getting grassed for the murder by his mates weeks before he did it is off the charts sus. They didn't exactly seem like they were in the neighbourhood watch.

Scots dog breeder who led secret life as a drug dealer jailed (msn.com)

This guy has been named in several court cases, including the Kevin Carroll Gerbil murder case IIRC.  THere have also been a number of firebombings in Strathavan, including a local councillor whose house was attacked a number of times after he raised concerns about the dog breeding facility.

The dog breeding facility involved in this case has also been firebombed several times.

Also, it isn't Scotland but the tragic death of a nine year old girl in Liverpool in a shooting shows the impact organised crime can have.  She was shot when a man fleeing a gunman ran into her house.  The targeted man, who was also shot, is a convicted drug dealer and is being questioned in hospital.

The Liverpool incident is tragic and the gunman should be put away for whole life however there is a lot of talk about people not coming forward to give information to the police but no acknowledgment that the police themselves collude with a lot of criminals.

Being a dog breeders goes hand in hand with drug dealing so hardly a shock.

Long read about the area where the murder in Liverpool occurred. The article also covers some of the suspects, including a group of organised criminals who trace their lineage back to Curtis Warren, who made hundreds of millions in the 1990s importing cocaine into the UK.
