Popular Post Ric
And once more, this fucking stupid idea does the rounds.. Quote "Could we have a situation where we do invite Rangers and Celtic to Premier League II? Why can we not unite the UK? Why do we have to be England and Scotland and not unite it? "Why can it not be a pyramid that allows teams in the Scottish leagues to get into Premier League II? In fact, I think actually more money would filter down if Rangers and Celtic could be given an opportunity to come in." Not sure if Moyes is a raging unionist, but that quoted text is sycophantic, staunch, forelock-tugging subservience to the Empire. Source: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56865597 He goes way off script of a cup based competition into rolling all teams into "a greater English league system". What a fucking idiot. Is he entirely unaware that we are not the same country in the same way France isn't Spain, nor Netherlands Germany. He should be proud to be Scottish, yet for some reason that pride is directed at a foreign country. Edited April 24, 2021 by Ric

Lets play as the UK and see how much the yoons like that. There is no justifiable case whatsoever for Scotland, England, NI and Wales having their own teams when Catalonia etc can't. Its not fair or right and shouldn't be allowed. So call these trumpets bluff then lets dissolve the national side and see how they like that.
Popular Post Dons_1988
A couple of days he said football is about the fans and what they want. Last night he’s shoehorning Scottish clubs into the English pyramid to a) benefit the OF and b) apparently reduce the load of games on the big English clubs. A microcosm of the absolutely nauseating shite coming out of the English media in the past week and the fact it’s coming from a Scot is even more astonishing.

Sadly there will be some, who support such an idea, that will happily castigate any rejected Scottish GB caps while cheering on second rate English fodder. All the time wrapped in a Union Jack, of course.

And it is true to say its not fair or right that the UK has four teams. They shouldn't be allowed that, nobody else gets that. -

No as the EU is made up of independent countries.

The reasons are we made the rules so gave ourselves special treatment that isn't afforded to anybody else. That's not fair or right, so we should be treated the same as everybody else. There should be a UK team. -
Busta Nut
The political union of the 4 countries doesn't mean we should have a UK team.

wastecoatwilly
Fans are very sensitive to this question, the fear of losing our identity if we binned the league cup for a UK cup it's a slippy slop.

DA Baracus
Oh look, another attention seeking attempt to hijack a thread by HalfCutNinja, who absolutely, definitely isn't the latest in a long line of tedious aliases.
DA Baracus
Anyway, Moyes can bolt. Daft old granny looking c**t. I do though have to disagree that he should be proud to be Scottish. He shouldn't be proud, or ashamed, about where he was born.

G51
Scotland is a nation within a state. It’s perfectly acceptable for Scotland, England, NI and Wales to have separate teams.

The UK is one unitary state. Its not the same. Legally we are just part of the UK called Scotland. The Faroes controls its own borders independently of Denmark. We don't. The Cook Islands exercise their own foreign policy and control their own borders. We don't. The Virgin Islands are an unincorporated territory of the US. We are part of an incorporating union. The clue to the difference is in the words, do I have to explain? The Virgin Islands is not governed by the US and they do not get a vote in US elections. We are governed by the UK and do get a vote. Its completely different.
