Motherwell FC v Soft Penalty FC (St Mirren if there was any doubt)

Recommended Posts

McGrath has passed his penalties that way just about every time I’ve seen him hit one. Was bound to catch up with him eventually.

A big let off for us though. Saints playing well.

Difficult to see what we are trying with the long balls through to Alnwick

Yeah sounds a nightmare but the commentary team have been great. Best of the ppv channels I've seen.

Presumably no one from the club or the broadcasters listen in

Flynn pulling up with hamstring gone is a shame for him. He's been having a good game and he's took so long in getting back from his knee injury.

St Mirren much better organised than I have seen in previous games

Enjoyable first half from our point of view and we really should be ahead.

Motherwell have fashioned out a single chance that they should have buried but apart from that, it's been more or less a one way flow of traffic towards Motherwell's goal.

Played well - passing the ball about very nicely. Connelly definitely the danger man. However, aside from the penalty, Motherwell have probably had the two best chances. Lots of aimless punting up the park from them tho.

HT 0-0
Been quite entertaining stuff for an end of season game. We’ve certainly been the better side, should have had two penalties and got one. McGrath is human after all, decent save from Kelly. Still 8/9 isn’t a bad record from the spot this season and if he’s going to miss one, better to be in a relatively meaningless game like this.
Motherwell have been their usual physical self. Plenty of kicking and fouling all over the park. Had a decent chance on the break but was well saved by Alnwick.
Erwin’s been good, played a great ball through to McGrath early doors that should have been scored and forced a few saves out of Kelly late on with decent efforts on target.
Like to see some of the young boys get some minutes second half. Get Reid and Henderson on.

Entertaining open game

Flynn going off is a blow, Erwin having a good game, Dylan is far more dangerous coming off the left

Saints absolutely dominated that half; playing some really nice stuff and should be ahead.

Really bad news seeing Flynn pick up that injury.

Can’t imagine we’ll be able to keep this up for the whole 90 minutes, so we may rue not taking advantage of that half.

Should be about 0-3 on the balance of play.

I hope Long gets binned at HT, push Lawless higher and bring Maguire or O’Hara on.

St Mirren the better side. Deserve to be in front. We have had a couple of decent chances but we are not playing well at all. Campbell non existent as is most of the midfield. I would take a forward off and put OHara on. But that is not likely to happen. So more of the same 2nd half sadly......
