In the Midland catchment area itself most the towns in Angus are included, Dundee's well served and St. Johnstone seem to pick up most fans throughout Perthshire so there maybe isn't much appetite for other clubs there. Who's left?... Dunblane? Pitlochry? Monifieth? Not much

Breadalbane (Aberfeldy) are always the club mentioned. They've applied and been rejected from the ERJFA before.

Rothie Rovers got accepted into the North Juniors. That was confirmed the season before so dunno if it counts.

Can’t see anymore coming in from the Midlands area anytime soon, apart from Bredalbane maybe

Have the North decided on their structure (back to 19-20?) and have both decided on their league names yet?

It was meant to be back to 2019-20 with the addition of Rothie Rovers. It is technically back to 14-9-9 now with Spey Valley United confirmed as in abeyance. The question now is whether there are any other clubs sitting out 2021-22.

Buckie Rovers were down to one committee member during lockdown which is why they confirmed sitting out last season very early. Looking at FB they were optimistic of a return in early May but still making asking for more support. Hopefully they got some fresh blood in to keep them ticking over.

EDIT: Cup draws for the North Region have been announced. Looks like just Spey Valley United in abeyance this season with 32 entrants.

The division set up should be 14-9-9 with Rothie Rovers essentially replacing Spey Valley United in the Second Division.

I can't even really begin to think of places or clubs past further north of the Tay who would, could or want to join the pyramid. Aberdeen and Moray are very well represented for their size, all the decent sized towns in Aberdeenshire are covered, the only places not covered in the Highlands seem to prefer the summer leagues (and are hardly bustling metropolises), travel's too much of an issue for the Western Isles and Shetland. Possibly Skye?

In the Midland catchment area itself most the towns in Angus are included, Dundee's well served and St. Johnstone seem to pick up most fans throughout Perthshire so there maybe isn't much appetite for other clubs there. Who's left?... Dunblane? Pitlochry? Monifieth? Not much

Once the three leagues tack on at the bottom is North half of the pyramid pretty much complete for the foreseeable?

The North Caledonian FA  represents football in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, so it is  possible for the northern islands (you mention) to join in the North Caley League.   To date however, the position has been :

Orkney FC has been a member of the NCL since 2014/15, during which time they have been champions once

Lewis & Harris FC has played in a few of the North Caley cup competitions, albeit not in the last 2 seasons (there have been pandemic and ferry problems), and may participate again if these problems are resolved

Shetland FC  has also participated in the NCFA cup competition (cup winners once), but it is impractical given remote location and costs, to join the NCL

Skye 'United' FC doesn't exist, and from a couple of discussions I've had with some Isle club officials (3 or 4 years ago) there was little on no interest. However, Pyramid Tier 6 may generate some intertest,  and possibly sponsorship, in the near future (?).

On the subject of Pyramid Tier 6 in the North, we should have confirmation of its' creation on Monday next.

Any news?

Turns out it was the SJFA AGM today. Not the SFA one. Some news should start filtering through now that it's over.

Such as the the SJFA having a new President.

I'd guess a rebrand of the regions will come out soon at the very least.

If I'm not mistaken, they're both today...

Should be an announcement of a new VP too as Stanton previously held that role. There's a vacancy on the management committee vacancy also as one of East Region positions was held by Steven MacMillian of Stoneyburn.

Would hav thought 20th of July was a bit late in the day to ok 2 of the northern leagues to be playing under the SHFL,Grampian and Midland.

Some of the leagues down here will hav already started by then??

It's really only the Highland League Play-off that needs to be rubberstamped I suppose. The Midlands and Grampian are meant to still be governed the SJFA, and from an SFA pov are just continuation's of the North and East Region.

The WoSFL was a brand new league, under the SFA at Tier 6 with everything below falling under the new league admin. There was also the need to amend the existing LL Play-off Rules and Regulations.

From a Clydebank poster in the West forum they said the SFA one wasn't until the 20th July. There might be an SFA Board meeting today.

Maybe it's the SFA Board meeting that will be the rubber stamp then? It can't have to wait until 20/7, that is far too late.

With the SJFA still being the governing body of the rebranded North and East Regions, it doesn't need the SFA to rubber stamp those leagues. If the changes have been approved tonight they can go about having their own AGMs now to set up 2021-22 officially.

It's the Highland League Play-off side of things that needs the stamp of approval of the SFA since they will be intertwined in it alongside the NCL, SJFA, and Highland. As well as being the governing body that oversees it.

Fair point yes, I assume the SFA board can then rubber stamp the play-off?
