Best Documentary?

None of these are in the same league as a work like World at War, but if you're in the market for a good documentary, you could do a lot worse than...

Capturing the Friedmans - the story of a middle-class family man who's accused of child molestation, and the effect it has on his family. One of those stories where nothing is quite what it seems; the authorities are determined to convict a bad guy for something, even if he didn't do what he was accused of, no matter how it affects everyone around them. and if it requires them to bring down innocent people to do so.

The Paradise Lost trilogy - a trio of American teenagers are convicted of murdering a group of young children with no evidence tying them to the crime. Remarkable and shocking excoriation of American justice in small towns, and another case where the authorities would rather die than admit they could possibly have made a mistake.

Three Identical Strangers - strange story about three extremely similar young men discovering each other. An onion story that keeps peeling off more layers in shocking fashion - works best with no prior knowledge of the story, and is a bit of an emotional rollercoaster.

The Killing of America - someone posted this on the US Shootings thread recently. It's a shocking, relentlessly exploitative exploration of the rise of America's murder culture, at a time when people were panicking about the rise in seemingly random killings, and wondering what could be done to stop it. Made forty years ago.

I hope you watched a Disney movie or some sort of fluffy comedy after this lot. Bloody hell.
