Charlie Mulgrew has never come across as the smartest (ignoring leaving his child locked in the car while he goes shopping).

We took a hiding off of someone years ago around the time his form began to drop during the McGhee years. A friend of a friend asked him how he could go out and get bleezing after that performance etc.

Mulgrew asked him what he did for a living. Upon being told the lad was a joiner he asked if he would still go out for a few pints if he nailed a bit of wood wrong earlier in the day. 

This was in the queue at burger king to show an even higher level of professionalism.

Bumped into Neil Lennon in a couple of Glasgow boozers on his previous stint as Celtic manager and always found him to be polite and with good chat even if he did try a bit too hard with the ‘let me buy you a pint’ chat. 

I can however confirm that he drinks (drank?) Stella and lime so definitely OFTW.

Met loads of players and majority are totally fine.  Even the ref Steven McLean is ok in real life!!

Only ones who I wasn’t really impressed by were Dwight Yorke (years ago) and Brian Graham.

Robbie Earnshaw came across as a p***k when I met him in a casino in Cardiff. Was down for the Scotland game and Wales had just banged us 4-0, so you'd have thought he might have taken pity on us, but no. Miserable person.

Met Alex Williams in a kebab shop in Glasgow around about 2006/07, was playing for County at the time. He was sound, and even told his mate who was trying to be a wideo to shut the f**k up so he could talk to us. Seemed a decent guy.

Most footballers I have met have been very nice but the worst player and possibly the up there with one of the worst human beings I have met was Marcus Heikkinen in an Aberdeen kebab shop after a night in Liquid 

I wouldn’t of known who he was but my mate is an huge Aberdeen fan and went to speak to him. He proceeded to start shouting abouting about how horrible a place Aberdeen was, how he hated the horrible fans and wish he had never seen Aberdeen.

then he started racially abusing the guys behind the shop counter. When I told him to stop he started shouting racist homophobic abuse at me about me and another of my mates who was standing outside and is half Indian. 
 

We started scrapping and were pulled apart by the shop staff. He was thrown out and I hope he went hungry. On a side note my spicy chicken pizza was brilliant

I'm a Celtic fan so definitely should like him and I did want to, but he is a p***k, even all the staff who didn't know anything about football despised him. He would never buy a drink and I'd just go along with it cause it wasn't me losing any money, one time a newish girl asked him to actually pay and he was shocked and then opened a wallet with like 300 quid in it. His tab was up over 500 quid when I left.

The biggest bell end of the lot though was the dreadful Anthony Stokes, I saw first hand him start a fight in a pub only to shite it and run behind his group of mates who bailed him out, seemingly that's his modus operandi.  Grade A c**t.

Stevie Woods was at a wedding I was at, He turned up at the reception as he was playing (unused sub probably) in the afternoon. He was in the queue for the buffet behind me. I turned and nodded to his plate and said, careful you don't drop that. 

He didn't find it funny, asking me who I played for, asked who I supported, I told him I was an Ayr fan and he said they were shite, he was asked to sign for them and said he'd rather quit than play for that shite....kept coming over periodically to make wee digs. i was embarrassed for him more than anything. 

I met Tomas Ujfalusi in a sushi restaurant in Prague with a Czech supermodel he was dating, he asked me if I was Irish and I said no, Scottish he said Ah Scotland hahaha! and raised his glass of water at me. Hard to tell if he was a p***k or not. 

Every other footballer I have met has been on media trained mode and been pleasant but standoffish

I've always thought that 'players shouldn't go out after a defeat' is ludicrous nonsense that only absolute thickos really believe.

I understand both sides of the argument. Don't think there's much issue in players having a drink but acting like arseholes is a different story.

Tend to feel that players shouldn't be falling about a fast food takeaway win, lose or draw to be honest.
