Hendry did this thing midweek where he kept dropping way deeper than the rest of the defence as if he wasn’t remotely in tune with the rest of the team. At that long ball that Marshall had to come for he’s at least five yards behind everyone else - possibly more. Don’t know if he’s being asked to drop deeper like that or if it’s just a lack of understanding between the defence.

Could understand if it was the central player in the three playing a pseudo sweeper role so i don't think it's to instruction

We are far too slow getting forward to support breaks.

There was a moment not long ago where Fraser had the ball the the halfway line and there was a pass ok in to the middle of the pitch, but instead he played it back and we ended up getting the ball slowly passed around the defence. Frustrating.

We have the ball in the middle of the pitch with players up and the default ball is backwards. Usually ends up back with Marshall who kicks long and we lose possession. Why not just kick it long from the halfway line when we have players up the pitch?

This is why Dykes is so important to Scotland...he'd be able to challenge for those high balls and turn them into counter attacks
