If you compare it to the 2019 GE then it's a very decent hold for the SNP. It's a total oddball seat. Edited May 7, 2021 by DC92
Donathan
Quite a few of the North East seats will go blue if that Banffshire swing is repeated elsewhere. Moray looks like a gain for the Tories for sure on those numbers. Richard Lochhead "self-isolating".... how convenient

LongTimeLurker
Buchan and Banff Coast would have been a stroll for the Tories prior to what Boris's Brexit deal did to the fishing industry.
paolo2143
It does look as though the teuchters are the biggest danger to SNP majority. I am worried about a couple of those Aberdeen seats that SNP are holding from 2016.

Blootoon87
What are the dodgiest seats for SNP to lose? Banff and Buchan was surely one of them.
doulikefish
Tories no 1 target seat a popular councilor and a new candidate for the good guys did well to hold on but I honestly thought it would be a bit more comfortable
Paco
It does look as though the teuchters are the biggest danger to SNP majority. I am worried about a couple of those Aberdeen seats that SNP are holding from 2016.Assuming the list vote has held, it should really just be swapping a constituency or two for list MSPs. Would need to see at least three flips before it became a net loss for the SNP. No guarantee the list vote has held either of course. Salmond himself is in the North East, and there’s clearly been a bigger shift towards Greens from independence supporters this time around.
paolo2143
Amazing to think that up until 2016 SNP used to destroy the Tories in Banff & Buchan. In 2005,2010 and 2015 G.E's they slaughtered them but from 2017 onwards been heading towards the Tories.
Donathan
Huge swing to Labour in Rutherglen, but they will fall just short. SNP hold.

paolo2143
I think there is a chance that Caithness & Sutherland could be at risk to Lib Dem's and Perthshire South is another one that is on the line
