SNP need to nip this patter in the bud, pronto. A fucking decade?

You might not like it but if the Tories keep winning at Westminster in perpetuity. Then that could be the reality.

Patience is the key here.

They will want the Presiding Officer for the Indy ref stuff.

Very good point. Normally it's useful to weaken your opponents by making one of them PO, but this time they may have to rule on the legality of a referendum bill.

A majority is nice and all but it still takes the entire parliament coming together to beat them. What issue are the greens and tories aligned on?

Funnily enough, they weren't all that far apart on the recent climate change act. The Tories even introduced an amendment for a national nitrogen balance sheet.

BBC Prediction of seats was a load of pish!

Wasn't it within 1 seat for every party?

Why not...it works

It does. In Angus Braden fucking Davy and an even more useless Tory Councillor were elected purely by campaigning against IndyRef2 and totally ignoring any awkward questions as to how to address certain local issues. Delighted to see the wee p***k failed to get elected as an MSP yesterday. c**t.

Braden deserves his place on the list, he has worked tirelessly from wanting an independent Northumberland, to standing for Scottish Labour against Salmond in the GE and being trounced, voting against his party for Indy2014, ending up in a sleaze scandal with Ross Thomson in an Aberdeen hotel room, leaving his socialist history behind to become a Tory Angus councilor and now sqeezing in the 'back door' like a good Tory boy...

Not a decade though. Its highly possible that Johnson will steam role next GE too. Covid will hopefully be gone and the full impact of brexit will have hit. I'd time the second referendum to hit just after the next GE towards the end of this parliament. When Johnson gets back in the time would be right. Plus 3.5 yrs more of demographic shifts. It would be suicidal to have referendum in first half of this parliament but must be during this term....if we go down the court route that would suit timing.

They're no longer a group. Off the parliamentary bureau, no involvement in setting the agenda of parliament and I think there will be a cut in their questions at FMQs.

It’s a pity they retained the Orkney and Shetland seats.

The thought of Rennie and ACH holding their parliamentary group meetings in a phone box halfway up the Royal Mile is an amusing one.

I'm really not sure tbh.

Labour down south are in a pretty dire state. They think they are fighting the Tories of old who cut spending and taxes. The current breed of Tories are now increasing spending and taxes. Admittedly, after subjecting everyone to austerity for most of a decade.

I expect your timing will be close though. If it was my call I'd go along with that. As for the court route, I'm not convinced it will actually help. Going to court rarely does.

Agree with this. Another thumping SNP performance in the GE with a potential to take 50+ seats out of 59, and Johnson easily re-elected in England...worst of Covid passing, and Brexit indeed coming off the rails...prior to the GE ask for a Section 30, knowing it will be denied. Best time would be late 2024...definitely wait 3 years.

I'd like to formally announce that in the next Holyrood election the P&B party will be running a candidate in Mason's constituency. Will be either Barney the Dinosaur or Godzilla after an internal run off.

I'm surprised no Unionists have come out with you didn't get 2 million votes. As that's what the No side got in 2014.

Is that not what they used to argue with Brexit? You can't undo 17 million votes.

Yes he does. Just add up the ages of everyone in The Old Testament........

To be fair to GD he should know, he was there.

The intriguing thing is that if either Rennie or ACH lost their constituency, they might not have got a list seat in compensation AFAIK. Their vote share in both regions was hilariously low - because the tactical Yoon voters returned home - and would have left them in serious trouble.

An opportunity missed then but it means that there's at least another two seats there for the taking. They could be driven off the mainland in the near future, even under a PR voting system. Just let that sink in.
