Joan McAlpine rinsed by Oliver Mundell.

Probably won't get in on the list. Oh well, that's a shame.

Tory vote increased 10%, yet in neighbouring Ettrick etc it didn't increase at all.

I like to think it was a personal vote against her.

  • I wouldn't have voted for her, frankly.

Fantastic result for Fergus in Inverness.

Is that sarcasm? His vote share fell and the Tories were up 7.7.

What's really interesting there is the Greens coming from nowhere to 5.8%.

I guess the Mundell name carries weight in that fucked up area

Or that she's a bigot who I'm delighted to see defeated by a gay man who's stood up for transgender people.

There are even worse things in life than being a soft Tory.

Tactical voting. Labour down 14% with both Tory and SNP vote shares up.

It seems like about half the seats the SNP are losing are showing large amounts of tactical voting. Those Lib Dem seats with Cole-Hamilton and Rennie have other yoon parties evapourating despite their national vote share being only down by half a percent.

Tactical unionist voting clearly working where there's an obvious choice (Ed West, NE Fife), but possibly failing in the likes of Ed Central and Eastwood.

Fairly confident now that Salmond and Galloway are utter toast. Only question now is which number the SNP get between 63 and 66 IMO.

I'm kind of interested to see how Patrick Harvie does in Glasgow Kelvin. I don't think he'll get enough support to win, but be interesting to see if he closes the majority of the SNP. Greens seem to have a lot of support in Glasgow.
