Scottish Parliamentary Elections May 2021

Now that may be a game changer as East Lothian looked as though Labour would hold with tactical voting.

If the SNP can also gain Ayr, Edinburgh Central & Aberdeen West then it might be they could afford to lose Caithness & Perthsire South and still get 65 MSP's.

Labour would have won that easily with tactical voting. Not sure why 9000 people voted Tory.

Because they're Tories, not Labour supporters. Not everything is about independence.

Will probably be compensated for on the list, no?

Yeah, most likely. SNP need to hold what they had and probably take Ayr in order to come out of Sourh Scotland with a net gain. There are three other Tory seats to attack but I think they’ll cling on, Ayr is their best hope.

Colin Clark on the radio saying the Scottish Tories have been a shambles for the past 5 year and need someone closer to Boris who's making an impact in the 'red wall' down South.

Can't see Douglas Ross and Keir Starmer surviving all this.

Keir's probably about to concede more of his shadow cabinet to the right wing ghouls like Rachel Reeves so he'll be fine. Douglas Ross looking like he will have to take up a few more gigs on the touchline tho.

Majority on!!!!

There are some tory clownshoes(bots) on twitter saying even if there is a majority SNP, if the haven't got over 50% vote share they should refuse a referendum, that will be the Tories that got 43% UK wide and 25% in Scotland who get to call the shots......c***s.

Speaking at her count in Glasgow, Nicola Sturgeon, Scotland’s first minister, said all parties should be pleased by the high turnout.

Asked about the prospects of the SNP winning an overall majority, she replied:

A majority has always been a very, very long, shot. The Holyrood system is a proportional representation system. In 2011 [when the SNP won a majority] we effectively broke that system, so it would be good to do but I have never taken that for granted.

That has always been on a knife’s edge, a small number of votes and a small number of seats. So we’ll wait to see how the votes pan out over today and tomorrow, but at this stage in the results - and there’s a long, long way to go - I’m feeling extremely happy.

Yup. f**k them.
Shame that by winning east Lothian they probably lose a south of Scotland list seat
